Can I make this website Safari-compatible without a big headache?

On every web browser except Safari, this website works great. (Well,
by "every" I mean Mozilla, Netscape, and Internet Explorer, for Mac
and Windows).

The site is: http://www.ruleofthirds.com

(the problem does not exist on the first page... just all the other
pages, so you'll have to click on something to see the problem)

The problem lies with images swapping on rollover. I use a small
black .gif file to swap with images at various places in the site so
that they seem to disappear when you're done mousing over them. I use
the same small black .gif file regardless of the size of the image
it's being swapped with. All the other browsers know to resize the
black .gif to the same size as the file it's being swapped with. But
Safari simply overlays the tiny black .gif on top of the image it's
being swapped with, leaving both images occupying the same space
(making it look like a small bite has been taken out of the image).

Can I fix this for Safari users without creating a big headache for
myself? (the only solution I can think of is to actually use black
..gif files that are the same size as the images they're swapping with
-- which seems unnecessarily complicated).

Anyone able to help? Since my target audience largely uses Macintosh
computers, I don't want to shrug off the Safari users.

[Note: I'm no pro when it comes to coding, so my scripting may be a
little sloppier than some...]

I'm designing a website for some relatives and would like to know if there's a program or something that will show what the web pages will look like on a Mac or other operating systems. I've tested it using Windows 98 and XP, IE 6 and 5, and Mozilla 1.4. I've also tested by changing the screen resloutions and such things. I'm glad I did...

Hi, I have a big script that doesn't work in Safari 1.3, but does work in FF, and IE. I've given up going to my local Uni. to use their Macs (they've prevented the Debug menu from appearing after running that widely known hack), and so I want to buy my first Mac to do this properly. Being a PC person I am generally ignorant of Mac OS...

Ever since I found out that they didn't give us a way to install both IE6 and IE7 on the same machine, I have been more frustrated and annoyed with Microsoft than I ever have been with any company (and for someone who has loved Microsoft as much as me, that takes something pretty bad!). I am a web developer, and only have access to one...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not.
