Float element under image

Hi, guys.

You'll forgive me - it's been a while since I've done anything with HTML & CSS, and, as such, I'm rusty.

Now, I have the typical "header" section of a webpage. That header is 130px tall, and in that header, there is an image that exceeds this height and so pushes the header down and any text following the header. However, I would like the text under the header to sit near-flush to it. See this page for an example. The HTML and CSS can be viewed via the source.

Any ideas?

I'd like to float an image to the bottom of a DIV containing several paragraphs, so that it is positioned to the right of the closing paragraphs (and preferably below the closing paragraphs if the window is narrow). ASCII art (needs fixed width font): |-------------------------| |Qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq| |qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq|

I was trying to convert a Windows Forms prototype application to an ASP.NET solution that makes use of loading data streams into the Image Web/Windows control. For WinForms no problem. However in ASP.NET, the image control does not display tiffs,pngs,.. still it does display gif-streams. Memory stream writing into a gif- stream of the tiff and other streams likewise fails, although the streams seem to be filled correctly. On top of that,...

Hi Community, I think I can store Binary Data in SQL Server but when I try to retrieve it, I always only get one byte. I think I stored my Binary Data in SQL Server in a Colum of Type Image. At least when I execute the following code, I get some significant network traffic. When I check the database with query analyzer, I see 4 Hex Chars in the image colum. Like 0xe0 etc.

I've been using CSS for quite a while now but I have yet to master its eccentricities. Here's something I recently ran across and if someone could explain why this happens, I would appreciate it. I've included code below. The code produces three divs, each with height set to "auto." Within each div is an image. If I float the image left or right, the height of the box does not accommodate the height of the image automatically. If I don't...

Should the browser increase the div to 205px? or overflow the image? Reading the spec http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/visufx.html it makes no reference to inline-replaced elements though I'd assume that it behaves in the same way as a block-level box. Can anyone confirm? Ta, Jim.

Hello, I am daring to stick my head above the parapet and ask as question. I am working on redesigning a website to use CSS rather than tables for layout. I have come across a problem when trying to float an image to the right. For ease of looking at the problem, I have stripped away other parts of the page layout, and have just included the "content" section in the examples below. The basic design of having a left column and a main...

Hello. I have been using word processor like OOO for nearly 10 years and such layout is very usual to me: gopher://sdf.lonestar.org/I/users/weiwu/ooo_wrap_correctly.png but I found it's very difficult to achieve the same layout with HTML/css. The best result I can achieve is like this: gopher://sdf.lonestar.org/h/users/weiwu/Expectation.xml

Is there a method of using the CSS float command on images to contain itself within a single paragraph? The problem I'm running into is trying to use float images on a listing page, I have an image (say 100 pixels high) that is set to float left, the text that I'm floating around it is only 2 lines high (leaving room for additional text below). Because there is room for additional text floating right of the image my next paragraph text...

Does anyone know of a solution to avoiding right-floated elements (like a pull quote) from getting clipped at the top when printing, when it occurs between page breaks? Increasing the top margin of the browser's page setup works but that would be a user-controlled parameter.

I am trying to get the position of an element, and have it working in all the latest browsers other than IE. I want to get the current position on the page. I am using float Left or Right for placing the elements and this has allowed me to skip using tables to layout the page. The draw back I am having, is simply IE gives me the position me the offsetTop as always 0 and I am assuming that left is relative to the current container. How can I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
