Float element cuts of when printing

1 New Member
Does anyone know of a solution to avoiding right-floated elements (like a pull quote) from getting clipped at the top when printing, when it occurs between page breaks? Increasing the top margin of the browser's page setup works but that would be a user-controlled parameter.

I've been thinking about float-ing a span versus float-ing a div, and the same for absolute positioning. When what is floated or positioned is a short chunk of text, I don't see any _visual_ difference between the two. What I want to do is float (or position) a revision date at the right margin of a line that also has some text left justified. I tried earlier to do this and failed utterly in MSIE 4. But I was using span not div, and...

Is it just me or does opera and ie not render the float style properly? IE does a sucky job at it, but opera makes a total mess; Mozilla/Firefox renders it correctly however. I'm just trying to be a good boy following the html 4.01 strict spec, and taking it a step further by not using tables for layout, but it's becoming a real pain. You would figure putting a strict doctype declaration at the top of the page would create a uniformity in...

<html> <body> <p style="width:30%;">text1</p> <p style="float:left;">text2</p> </body> </html> The effect of this html code is : text1 and text2 each is on a line. My question is: Why text2 is positioned on the right of text1? Because the CSS2.1 said: A floating element must be placed as high as possible; A left-floating element must be put as far to the left as possible; A

Hi I'm having a problem to convert the Solemnity template to wordpress theme. This is the link: www.oficinapublicidade.com/assumpcao As you can see, in FF the sidebar is longer than the content box. That is why the content box (black border) is shorter than should be. It needs to follow the sidebar height, but is not. Maybe because the sidebar is floated right? In IE the problem is more weird. My assignment says to make a program to calculate the amount of change needed to add up to an input amount of money. Doesn't sound too hard, but there's problems somewhere. I initially tried using the modulus division (%), but it didn't give me correct results. I then tried receiving the input as a float, multiply by 100, and converting to a integer, but it gives strange results also. Through trial and error I figured out that when a number...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
