Hello,
I am working on a page transition scheme and was wondering what the
quickest way is to find out which ASP.NET controls need to be inside a
form with runat=server. I've determined that asp:Label does not need
to have the form runat=server and that asp:Textbox requires it.
Thanks,
Gar

Hi,
I got a asp form page where the POST ACTION = confirmation.asp page is used
to save the values collected from text boxes from the form in a database.
For example txtTotalOutlay field is being used in confirmation.asp page to
update a database field.
However, there is a field in the form which is calculated field e.g.
NetOutlay = .90 * txtTotalOutlay. This NetOutlay is thus not a text field.
However, in the confirmation field I...

Situation: I have a page, built using document.write(). When I hit
'save as', IE goes and saves the contents of 'about:blank' to that
file, rather than saving the HTML it's displaying in the window. Does
anyone know how to get around this?

I have a master page which contains a general page framework and also
contains a <form runat=server> around most of the content of the page. Inside
that <form> tag is a ContentPlaceholder.
I then create an ASPX which is tied to that MasterPage and in it a put a
bunch of form fields and an <asp:Button />. When I try to run the page, I
get...
"Control 'ctl00_BodyCPH_ctl00' of type 'Button' must be placed inside a form
tag with...

I have a web site I am working on. The ISP is hosting it on an unix server and does not allow CGI scripts.
I have made a form page and it is working well with the results emailed to my clients The results come in as text. My client wants the results to come to them in html i.e., they want it to look like the form page with the results in each field as though you would fill it out and then print it. Can this be done? If so how does one do it...

Hi All! We all know how to close a form on a client side (self.close) etc...
but does someone know how to close a form on server side (C#)
I am opening a pop up window (loading an aspx form)
window.open(myform.aspx....)
I want to close this form once the user hits submit button on it and capture
the value entered in the text box and pass it to a third form (can use
session etc...) but someone other trick would be great.
TIA

I'm an experienced web/CGI programmer, but new to ajax.
I'd like to review some examples of how to post data from a
form to server using AJAX. I have already created some examples
successfully that read data from a server to a form using
'get' as the first argument to the open() method
Also:
I have a client who wants to post some very large forms using
AJAX, but I'm concerned about the limits of the size of the
argument to the send()...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
