Hi, my first day in designing. Since I’m not a very good designer I tried copying a template from the net. Below is my problem.
I saved the below web page, http://osc3.template-help.com/cre_20885/
It got saved as an html page and a folder with images (which is usual). I then changed the image folder as ‘images’ from ‘CRE Loaded 6 - CRE Loaded Store_files’ and also changed the path in the <img> tag’s ‘scr’ accordingly. Also I changed the path of the css files and removed the <base link> tag.
The purpose of doing so is to get that web page’s template. Now when I viewed my html page (the one which I manipulated) it is not similar to that of the original page. Can anyone help me in finding out what exactly I’m missing?? I’m not getting the background theme also.

Could you post a link to your page with all of the changes you made to compare to the template you posted?
Did you change the links for the javscript and css files?

I could see the below links/code in the css files, - BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(images/button_blank_left.gif)
this gif image is not present in my 'images' folder. I tried to download this image but was unable to find the correct link. Hope im not confusing you guys.
Also, (from the view source) they have used a external javascript file called 'rollover.js' but i'm unable to download that file. I think, only after downloading that file we can see if there are any links over there.

If you copied the page from example.com, and the js is in /rollover.js, then you can view the js at example.com/rollover.js

Does the above call the javascript method?? I mean, from css file can we call a javascript function??
No. That accesses the image at example.com/images/button_blank_le ft.gif.

I have downloaded and installed the design templates Personal Design
and Basic from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/asp.net/aa336613.aspx
but I cannot make them appear among other templates when choosing "New
project"
I have also installed other templates like these:
