template page page_load fired twice

Hi

I have a Master page that opens up a db connection, performs a couple
of global routines in the page_load event. All of my other web pages in
my web app then inherits this Master Page

I also have a page_load event on all of the other pages. I am finding
however that the page_load event on the template page is being fired
twice.

Is there a work around so that the template master page page_load event
only gets fired once?

I am using .net (VB) 1.1 and VS2003

The page shouldn't act this way - anychance you have
AutoEventWireup ="true" in the @ Page directive AND explicitly wire up
the event (in VB the Page_Load event would use the Handles keyword).

I've got a page with a user control on it. While the page is loading, it needs to check certain conditions of the user object to enable/disable things on the screen. Currently in the page_load of the user control I do things like read from the database on the first load, set some internal variables, ... If I need those things to be available to me on the page load, should I do them on page_init? Are there any ramifications of using...

Hi, i have inherited a page from another user. The page is the target frame in a frameset. for some reason the whole page runs twice (page_load, init, etc. all run twice) I can't figure out how this is happening. there are no transfers or redirects that are occurring in the pages. the page runs thru all of its events then starts all over again. Trying to inspect the stack track doesn't help because when i get to the init the 2nd time,...

We are currently facing a problem in our application – the page submission events are getting called twice. It works fine in our local machines. As soon as we release the compiled code to the testing server which is a vmware server, we face the issue. The postback happens, the Page_Init, followed by Page_Load is called and once it executes the database call, Page_Init gets fired again. From our logs of IIS we can see that, the page...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
