Perhaps this is not the correct place to put this? Sorry if it isn't. I
am looking for HTML 4.0 Advanced by DCC Publishing (ISBN 1562439707)
either for download or purchase. (Preferably for download) I have
already tried Amazon.com, and they say they don't have anymore copies.
(Even though it says 2 copies available) I have searched and searched
but I can't seem to find it. If someone knows anything about this I
would be most appreciative. Thanks in advance. 6 1477 je********@gmai l.com wrote:

Try bookfinder4u.co m. They show many small vendors with copies,
starting at $24 (used).
P.S. I found this by doing a Google search on just the ISBN number.

Abe's appears to have two copies: <http://www.abebooks.co m>
Although, it's listed with a publication date of 2000 - surely a more up-
to-date book would be a better choice? There's a very good reason that
tech books like this go out of print pretty quickly.

As for Sherm's suggestion, thank you but I need this specific book. I
know the book is out of date but its not for me, the person who wants
it specifically asked for this book. Do you know if there are any
copies on the web? The person I am trying to get them for is a teacher
(which is why he cannot change the required material) and he needs a
class set. Unfortunately over the years he has used the book some have
gone missing or have been damaged. It would make things much easier if
the book could be accessed on the computer.

So he really thinks it's better to teach from an obsolete book?

If he's a K-12 teacher in the US, it's probably not up to him. In most places
in the US, the state or county board of education decides what books will be
used.
He's lucky - if he were in Kansas, the school board would be telling him to
teach his class that it's just a theory that the Internet is made of wires
and fiber optic cables, and force him to give equal time to the theory that
it's made of tubes. :-)

Yes he is unfortunatly a 12th grade teacher and required to teach with
that book, along with other very very old books. The Publisher, DCC
Publishing, no longer lists that book on their website.

Hi all,
I'm having a bizarre problem converting XML files to HTML using an
XSLT. The problem is only occuring in my Netscape 7.0 browser. What
makes it more bizarre is that it is only happening when I put my XML
files and the .xsl files on my ISP's system for my home page. If I
try to open the XML files in Netscape 7.0 on my own machine (ie, not
on the ISP's system), the pages convert file and the result is
displayed in HTML.

Hi all,
I was always told that the conversion of Word files to HTML as done by
Word itself sucks - you get a lot of unnecessary code that can
influence the design on web browsers other than Internet Explorer. Our
computer expert in my company had told me already a while ago that I
should learn HTML and encode myself. I was never inclined to do so (I
am no computer expert), and when upon his suggestion I looked how my
pages (converted to...

I have a very large html table created by MS Word, saved as it's "Web
Page, Filtered" file type. Every html table cell has lots of
formatting tags. Most of the file size is that formatting.
Is there a free or inexpensive editor that can quickly remove all
formatting to minimize the file size?
I tried a few freeware editors, but wasn't able to find a way to clean
it up.

Hello All,
I am hoping to hear other people's suggestions and advice regarding
this issue.
Generating and sending a basic HTML email with Microsoft.Net is easy.
I can throw some HTML together from strings, templates, excreta and
then fire it out to the world via System.Net.Mail.
If I want to generate a more advanced HTML email using the same the
same templates as my site I could write a component which uses screen

I have a large number of "help pages" for an application which we provide.
Within those pages are sections of code that I want to conditionally comment
out. These sections include HTML and Javascript elements. A sample:

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
