Client html to server

jas
I have an application written only in html with javascript. Everything
is on client side.
I want to make it web-based, and will be installing tomcat as the
server.

There are around 15 html pages in the app.

What is the easiest way to migrate and get started.
I have completed the the installation of tomcat. Now where do I place
all the html pages, what new code do i need to write? How easy or
difficult is the migration? What are the steps I need to follow? Any
links for this?

Thank you
Jas

Reason for doing this is that I need to add many new advanced features
to the app. For eample, an advanced grid, spell checker etc.
I am able to find lot of server side componenets for these, and none on
the client side.
If you are able to find any, let me know those too.
Grid should have sorting capabilities, linking to XML should be
possible, columns can be of any html type (drop-downs) etc.

cheerz,
Jas

If someone could just explain this to me...I just don't get it! I have an aspx page where I retrieve several session variables and use xmlDocument to transform xml file with xsl file into an instruction document (not data based) - same as using an xml web control. The resulting html is on the client? but what about the server side of things? Trying to figure out how to change and save the xmlDocument. It I put a button OUTSIDE of the...

Personally, I am totally confused with the following control terms and usage and advantages of each one in ASP.NET web application. Here's what I know so far.. 1. HTML Client Control: understood by the client only. e.g. <input type="text" name="emp_name"> 2. HTML Server Control: understood by the server only. e.g. <input type="text" name="emp_name" runat="server"> 3. Web Server Control: understood by the server only. e.g. <asp:TextBox

I can get data from a client-side assembly to the server in two manual steps, but I need to be able to do it in one step. Step 1: The user presses the manually coded "Step 1" button, which calls the JavaScript function. The function copies the data into a server textbox control. Step 2: The user presses the VS generated "Step 2" button, which calls the

ASP.NET web application, data grid with several fields (Labels), table below the datagrid with several textboxes and dropdown lookup tables. When a user clicks on the "Select" button in datagrid, server side code grabs values from the selected datagrid's cells and sets the textboxes/dropdownlists below to the corresponding datagrid values. Works fine except for being dirt slow, Since all the data needed is already at the client, is there...

Hi, I have a webform with various asp controls on it such as textboxes and dropdownlists. I'm fairly new to asp.net coming from VB6 and am wondering when it's best to use client side events and when it's best to use server side events. For example, if a textbox is to contain a date I want to validate the date when that textbox loses the focus. If the date is not valid I make visible a label next to the textbox telling the user it's

Hi, I made an application in classic asp (reservation of books and video stuffs for students) and want to migrate to asp.net. The user has to chose a date, then pushung on a submit button. The whole day is then displayed in cels of a table. The user has then to click in a cel representing a hour of the day and an object (book ..), and finally click on the submit button to insert that reservation in the database. My problem is: there...

Hi Our company has a .Net web service that, when called via asp.net web pages across our network works 100%! The problem is that when we try and call the web service from a remote machine, one outside of our domain, we get the error.. ** Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=Windows-1252', but expected 'text/xml' **. We can discover the web service by typing in the url of the asmx so we know the server can 'see' it...

Hi all, I've been writing Javascript for quite a while now and have, of late, been writing quite a lot of AJAX and AJAX-related code. In the main, my dynamically generated pages are created using Perl on the backend, with Javascript providing limited frontend functionality. As an example, an expanding tree would be fully populated on the server-side and then presented to the browser, with Javascript and CSS being used to vary the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
