Background Image Issue in IE6

I have a background image that on all the pages of my site works fine -
however on one news item the background image lays over the top of the
text (if I select the text it all suddenly appears).

This doesn't happen in all IE6's - only some.

Does anyone know a fix for this or have any idea what is causing it?

Rick

FYI, you have another issue, possibly worse than that. Have you looked
at the site in a browser other than IE, with a smaller window size
and/or larger text size? The positioning of the navigation menu makes
the left-most tabs fall off the left side of the page. There is no
horizontal scrollbar, so they become inaccessible.

Like in iCab, and likely Safari, text sizing a few clicks up (not
that many... but I guess this is debatable)...

According to the CSS lint at http://htmlhelp.org/tools/csscheck/, "The shorthand background property is more widely supported than background-color." Can anyone point me to, or provide, information on what browsers have difficulty with the non-shortcut methods of setting background properties?

I want to place a background image on a windows form. Is there a way to prevent the image from Tiling without using an image box resized to the size of the form? I am using Visual Studio 2003 .NET. This is an easy thing to do in VB6.

Hi, I am trying to change the background of table TD's. The problem is that I have no access to the HTML code. SO I am trying to alter this using Javascript/DOM in an external .js file. I have tried lot's of things and spent hours on this, I thought I might give it a try here. One of the TD's uses HTML to set the background, the other one uses CSS styling:

Hello! I am trying to lay out a left navigation column with a background image, where the left nav column runs the entire scrolled height/length of the page. The float:left column layout works fine, but the background image doesn't continue downward in this column below the links. I tried this in FireFox 1.0.7 and IE6, but this image stops where the last link stops. I want the background all the way to the bottom. How can I force...

I have a form with a PictureBox control on it. The .Image property is set to a PNG file(which shows the picture of the US map) with some transparency in it. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
