Annoying List Problem

I'm using some css formatting for a UL and have the following problem:
when the text runs over to the next line, the images I've used in place
of the bullets don't display correctly (or in some cases not at all) in
IE (but correctly in firefox and opera)

Demonstrated here: http://malachiconstant.freewebspace.com/list.JPG

The code is:

#pgdivmenu ul
{
list-style-type: none;
text-align: left;
padding: 0 0 0 0;
margin: 0 0 0 0;

}

#pgdivmenu ul li a
{
background: transparent url(list-off.gif) left center no-repeat;
padding-left: 12px;
text-align: left;
font: 11px Verdana, sans-serif;
text-decoration: none;
color: #302226;

}

#pgdivmenu ul li a:hover
{
background: transparent url(list-on.gif) left center no-repeat;
font-weight:bold;
font: 12px Verdana, sans-serif;

}

#pgdivmenu ul li a#current
{
background: transparent url(list-active.gif) left center no-repeat;
color: #394D8C;

Use list-style-image, which is what you want. Alternatively, use
list-style-type:square

Can anybody please give me a decent justification for this: class A(object): def __init__(self, a): self.a = a def __eq__(self, other): return self.a == other.a s = A(3)

I am using the following code instead of a very lengthly select case statement. (I have a lot of lookup tables in a settings form that are selected from a ListBox. The data adapters are given a similar name to the table. Rather than making a long Select Case that could become obsolete if lookup tables are added and the source table of the ListBox is edited I came up with this code.) This code works but of course it gives me build...

Hi everyone, This one is better experienced than explained, so I'm including a code sample below. Please and save (as an html file) and view with NN or Firefox (or maybe even Mozilla), and then view. When loaded: (1.) Place the mouse over "Top Menu" item. (The menu opens) (2.) Move to any of the sub-menu items. (3.) Click on the left or right (but NOT on the text) of the current

Hello All, I have been working on this for almost a week now and I haven't anything up my sleeves anymore that I could test in addition or change.... Since I am not sure, if this is a Windows 2003 Server or ADO or ODBC issue, I am posting this on all of the three newsgroups. That's the setup: Windows 2003 Server with IIS and ASP.NET actiavted Access 2002 mdb file (and yes, proper rights are set on TMP paths and path,

Hi all We all know that C++ is a cleverly conceived multi-paradigm language that sacrifices very little in efficiency for what it delivers in terms of type-safety, encapsulation and generic behaviour. What I want to ask here is - what are the features that people most dislike about it i.e. that: - make it more difficult than necessary to implement designs

An interesting/annoying problem. I created a small example to provoke an exception I keep getting. Basically I have a C-struct (Container) with a function-pointer in it. I perform repeated calls to the function in the container. I allocate (and free in c) arrays to get garbage collection in both C and C#. After a few seconds I get an exception. I assume GarbageCollector moves the delegate (or collects is) and when I don't find it in C...

Is there any trick to get rid of having to type the annoying, character-eating "self." prefix everywhere in a class? Sometimes I avoid OO just not to deal with its verbosity. In fact, I try to use Ruby anywhere speed is not crucial especially for @ prefix is better- looking than self. But things grow -- is there any metaprogramming tricks or whatnot we can throw on the self? Cheers,

Thanks for your reply. Another point to note: if you get a personal reply (often you will just see replies on the list, but sometimes people will also mail you directly) it is usual to make sure the list gets copied in any reply. I hope you don't mind that I am sending a copy of this message to the list, so everyone understands that you are just learning the rules. regards Steve

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
