Yes. The HTML spec defines an attribute:
http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/intro/s...didx-attribute
and provides a list of attributes:
http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/index/attributes.html

Use proper links that always work, remember that JavaScript may be
switched off. Avoid inline styles where possble. Don't use Verdana.

I see some code examples like this: <DIV onmouseover="this.style.background='blue'"> and other code examples like this: <DIV onmouseover="javascript:this.style.background='blue'"> Which way is more proper? Or are both ways perfectly fine? Are there any specifications that discuss when "javascript:" should be put in front of code?

How much are you interested that the attribute "style" will offer the same or similar capabilities like they are provided by the element "style" in the element "head"? Do you want that the document "Syntax of CSS rules in HTML's "style" attribute" (http://www.w3.org/TR/css-style-attr) will become an official recommendation in the near future? Best regards, Markus Elfring

Hi, got the following problem: I want to include some code in an HTML page so that at a particular place, it fetches another HTML file from another server and puts it in. Reason for this is that this space keeps changing. The original HTML runs on an eBay server, i.e. I cant place the second file on their server. Is there a standard HTML code or some Javascript that can do this?

Should links automatically appear in the "visited" color as defined by the user's IE settings without having to add any special coding? I have a situation where the link was not changing color until I added the following style: .vl:visited{color:#808080;} And then referenced this style in my Anchor:

Hey guys, I'm building a site for a landscaping business down the street and can't seem to get part of the code functioning correctly. The code fails on line 68 where I make a reference to an iframe's src property. Being that IE does not follow standard and considers an id, name, etc as a qualifying identifier for the document.getElementById object, I double checked to make sure that there's only one instance of id = "servif" and I never use...

Hi, People, Is it possible to have an "empty" or "dummy" <a href***without*** the browser jumping back up the page?? I have a hyperlink that doesn't point to another document, but is used to call forth a modal window onClick (or is there another way, without text or image links, of calling forth JavaScript on user activity??). I would like to spare my visitors the inconvenience and visually jarring effect of getting thrown back up to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
