since a majority of people are still on dial up or at most DSL (though there
*IS* broadband) does it help or hurt one's webpage adding multi media ?
does it necessarily distract from the theme of the webpage ? Are we ready
to move from static webpages to webpages that are more fluid ? Is it cost
that is prohibiting this move ? Cost of what ? ...bandwidth ?
....development ? ...licensing ?
What's the general consensus ? (i'm doing...

Hello Everyone,
I am a beginner in Javascript.I want to create fun quiz tool using
javascript (no database). The feature of that tool is every question
has five choices. The user needs to select three best choices. If they
do, a message window pops up which says good choices or something and
take them to next question. If they don't choose all of the best
choices they get another message like try again but these are not the
best choices...

Hi
I'm still trying to solve my problem. I have two tables- students and
activity assessments, they're linked one-to-many. From a
lookup/combo/list I'd like to be able create a series of new
activity assessment records each with the activity name field populated
per student or group of students.
i.e. Bob has no activity assessments but on a form 10 activities (golf,
football etc)are highlighted, click a command button and viola!...

I have a Windows Forms App with a number of buttons. I need to add
auditory feedback to the buttons being clicked since they will be
clicked using a touch sensitive LCD screen.
I added the following method call to every button click event:
private void keyClick()
{
System.Console.Beep(1000,50);
}

What I have now is a static banner that loads as an background-image via css stylesheet but I put on top of that a flash banner so it would load the static banner and the flash will fade in.
The problem is is that that flash banner is a part of the html so when I change stylesheets the flash banner stays. Is there a way to make a javascript to do such a thing?
Just noting here that I've never coded javascript.
Oh and this is where I...

Hi there,
I'm creating an offline flash piece to go on a cd for a presentation. I have a number of large flvs around the 60mb mark, I am able to display these in my flash movie using the flvplayback component. What I am trying to do is provide a menu of buttons, which will allow a user to play a set portion of the movie. Previously I have embedded the flvs in swfs, loaded them using loadclip and used the onEnterFrame event to count the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
