Creating a javascript to change flash src in html upon an activestyleshee t change?

54 New Member
What I have now is a static banner that loads as an background-image via css stylesheet but I put on top of that a flash banner so it would load the static banner and the flash will fade in.

The problem is is that that flash banner is a part of the html so when I change stylesheets the flash banner stays. Is there a way to make a javascript to do such a thing?

Just noting here that I've never coded javascript.
Oh and this is where I learnt about my stylesheet changing script.

This is my website so far, index is the only page with the style changer.

Thank you :3

You could look at using a Flash/JS integration kit, e.g. Adobe's own or SWFobject.

Then change the src in the function which changes the stylesheet.

Is it hard to implement or do I have to learn a new language?

It shouldn't be that difficult as soon as you can get JavaScript interacting with Flash.

The advantage of using a kit/ready-made object is that it deals with the inconsistencies across browsers/platforms.

Have a look at the documentation and you should see examples.

I have a website which includes a Flash game. Upon the game ending the Flash object fires off the javascript method: recordScore(value) This is then queried against the top score for the day and if it is higher than this is stored as the new highest score. The problem is, I have discovered it is possible to hack this page by writing

since a majority of people are still on dial up or at most DSL (though there *IS* broadband) does it help or hurt one's webpage adding multi media ? does it necessarily distract from the theme of the webpage ? Are we ready to move from static webpages to webpages that are more fluid ? Is it cost that is prohibiting this move ? Cost of what ? ...bandwidth ? ....development ? ...licensing ? What's the general consensus ? (i'm doing...

Using javascript closures to create singletons to ensure the survival of a reference to an HTML block when removeChild() may remove the last reference to the block and thus destory the block is what I'm hoping to achieve. I've never before had to use Javascript closures, but now I do, so I'm making an effort to understand them. I've been giving this essay a re-read: http://jibbering.com/faq/faq_notes/closures.html

Hi. I must first say I'm not an experienced scripter. Here's my problem and how far I am so far. I struggled for awhile to get the browser to fill most of it with my flash movie and keep it proportional if the user chooses to size up or size down. This pretty much takes care of the browser size complications. Here is original script and it works. But now I have few problems after this. CODE#1 <!-- masked --> <html> <head>...

Hey everyone, i've been playing around with trying to get some scripts to work with detecting whether flash player is installed on your computer or not. I found a flash detection kit on the adobe site which had a client side detection method using javascript. Basically what im trying to get it to do is if flash player is installed, use the style property display="none" to hide my static content, and if flash is not installed hide the flash...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
