You know, while working on my moonlight corporation's LAMP project at
home this weekend, I couldn't help but wonder if people writing similar
projects are solving similar problems with having to complete the
project by building an installer and building the user/group
administration piece of it.
The thought came to me that it would be great if LAMP developers,
whether they used MySQL or PostgreSQL, could just simply write the
project to...

Hi there,
I just distributed an application in which I (try to) change db.properties depending on
CurrentUser()
For instance I set the property's AllowBypassKey and AllowBuiltinToolbars to False when
CurrentUser() <> "xx"
I just noticed that the property's can only be changed changed by a user belonging to 'Admins'.
I never noticed this before.
I could swear that in other apps (A97) this works fine without the user being an admin...

Using ASP.NET 2.0 Web Site Admin Tool.
Under Security tab it says this:
Click a row to select a user and then click Edit user to view or change the
user's password or other properties.
When I click "Edit user" I do NOT see ANYWHERE to change the users password.
Am I missing something?

I have recently completed a database (Access 2000) for our factory, which the users will update daily. I am at a different location and need to manage, view and also make changes and updates. Iam probably doing this wrong, but at this point, I update the database and email the whole thing to them, they update and send it back everyday. I have assigned a password for the users and me as admin, and they seem to work. When I open the database, it...

I am just beginning to implement user-level security in Access 2003. I created a user account and it is assigned to the users group. I would like to assign a password for this account (or for the users group), but am not given the option to do so. (I am trying under Tools > Security > User and Group Accounts > Change Logon Password.) Only the admin userid is available. Is it because there is currently no password assigned for admin that I...

Scenario: User load web application and login using account and
password of the Active Directory.
But user account of ActiveDirectory has expired (or password could be
expired). For security reason, we don't want to use any account with
admin privilegies for...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
