No but flash drives generally last 500000 or more erase/write cycles. Sometimes less and sometimes more. But when you format be sure it is in a file system that supports your operating system

All, There is a KB article pertaining to windows installer running every time an application starts - so I know it's an issue - but the KB article pertains to MS Office only. I am seeing the same behavior as the MS Office installer issue in my installer package. The behavior started happening after I added a custom installer step (implemented in C#) and the behavior stops if I remove my custom installer step.

Hello, I have a problem in a specific machine with Windows2003. Every time that I restart the machine the aspnet doesn't work but IIS works. If I open an aspx the w3wp takes 100% of cpu. If somebody has a similar problem a workaround is to register after every restart the aspnet with aspnet_regiis -i, but it isn't a smart solution Any ideas?

Hi, I am currently experiencing a wired issue. Every time I start my my dev server machine to run my ASP.Net app, the IIS server is not functioning - I get page can not be displayed error and I have to rerun the aspnet_regiis -i to make it work. I also found that, when this happens, all the .html pages are served fine, but all the .aspx pages, AND all .asp pages, are not served. What is going on here?

Hi all, how do I avoid typing the keyword "$this->" every time I need to reference a member of a class inside the class? (coming from a world of cozy auto-complete enabled Java / .Net IDEs I find it a bit annoying) TIA, JS

I am working in Access for a (what I thought would be) simple Work Order and Time database. I am just starting a VB class in hopes to become a real developer, not just a pretend one. In this database, an employee inputs the date, work order number, start time and end time. I need some code to have it determine if the total for that entry is Regular Time or overtime. I'm using: Week: Format(.Date,"ww") to group the entries into the correct...

With String.Format, if I have an incorrect number of args specified for a format string, compile fails. How can I implement similar design-time functionality for my own string functions?

Hi, I found a bug in IE6, though it is known already. If I have a CSS background property set to some image, such as background:url(myimg.gif);, and I apply this property to some html element, say DIV, and refresh DIV every 10 seconds, background image is reguested every 10 seconds for IE6, too. The fix which I found did not fix the problem: try { document.execCommand("BackgroundImageCache", false, true);

Hello all, I have searched far and wide for a solution to my issue. In short, here is the problem: 1. 3 PC's enter data into an Access 2003 database (PC's are running Vista w/ Office 2007 pro). The database has been used for a long time and we haven't upgraded it to a 2007 version database. 2. One of the PC's hosts the "master" database, the 2 others are using Replica's of "master" database. At the end of each work day, the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
