I like to create some audio files for my web site. These are all
language files to help the visitor learn a foreign language. There is
no music.
As far as I know, I can create three types of such files: .wav, .mp3
and .wma. But my knowledge may be too old. Is there any new type?

I had a problem with uploading images in that some files did not have a type
of "image/something" from the
$_FILES which I used for my verification.
Someone (THANK YOU) suggested using getimagesize() which has the third
element in the returned array being a number representing the image type.
That worked perfectly for me, enabling me to check that it was, indeed, an
image file that I had uploaded.
Now I ask if there is a similar...

Hi,
This might seem a dumb question, but every search I've done so far has come
up blank - with the possible exception of Schtoom. I've seen Schtoom that
does manage to capture audio under Mac OS X, but it's unclear whether the
audio tools it uses can be used independently of Schtoom.
So my question this: does anyone know of a library or simple approach
to capturing audio (any quality :) from a microphone on Mac OS X ?

Hi,
I have been using GDI+ and Windows Media SDK to get the metadata
information for image and audio files respectively.
Just incase if someone is not clear as to what I mean by metadata
information, its the information regarding the image or audio files
like., height and width for the image.,. Title, artist, author etc for
the audio files.

Hi Everyone,
Do any of you gurus out there have any suggestions regarding capturing
audio/video from a video capture card in C#. Although I've written
other programs, I've never worked with audio/video sources before.
I've seen other people recommending DirectShow.NET. Is this one of the
more popular libraries to use? Would anyone recommend other third-
party libraries?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
