I need a CFRONT C++ Compiler for MS-DOS/Windows to replace an Apollo Domain 2.1.0 compiler

I am trying to recreate a legacy 68K Apollo development environment on
Windows. (Nearly there excpet for the CFRONT). We are currently
outsourcing this work but would ideally like to bring it inhouse.

All I need now is a CFRONT Compiler to translate C++ source to C
source.

Our old Apollo's are gone, and need to replace with an equivalent
Microsft based Compiler/translator.

If anyone can assist I would be most grateful.

Perhaps Comeau C++ can be of assistance? www.comeaucomputing.com

And you should think of asking in the newsgroup for your OS...

It seems I have run afoul of an unfixable and acknowledged bug in my beloved access 97 which has no workaround other than to upgrade. Current supported upgrades are 2002 and 2003. 2003 appears to use lots 'o system resources, so I am wondering if I am best to go with the older (2002) version. Any opinions out here? In particular, which version more likely to make the conversion of the 97 databases the least painful? Both upgrades

Good day all, I have seen so many postings dealing with MS Access as a security risk and other items, yet I see now clear reason why. I would really like someone to point me in the right direction for clear reasons why MS Access should not be used for the enterprise. For a handful of users I don't see an issue, but when an access application (I use that loosly) drags down the network and the SQL Server at the same time, it makes me...

What is the status of cfront in regards to copyright and licensing? The source code is available on the web in at least one location (should it be?). John

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
