When working on a web site for my employer, I uncovered what appears to
be an undocumented bug in Internet Explorer 5 & 6 for Windows in regard
to a (perhaps uncommon?) integration of Flash scripting and CSS2
background imagery. I am hoping that someone out there can help me
identify what steps I might take to remedy this situation. Perhaps it is
something that Macromedia might be able to do something about, since
getting IE fixed is...

I have a following problem:
Flash control (toolbar) has to be integrated in win32 application written
in
C. The problem is that application is not dialog window and hasn't MFC. If
it
were so, the problem could be easily solved, but without MFC?
Did anyone encountered, and hopfully solved, such a problem? Code
example would be of great help.

Hi there,
I'm not a flash programmer myself but I work with some of them. It
seems whenever I browse to a page developped by these folks the browser
receives it as if there were ActiveX content (but there is none). I
think there is a relationship between ActiveX and Flash, but I believe
they are separate. The problem is, on explorer, for security and
sanity reason I have completely disabled activeX and it prevents me
from seeing the...

I am developing an HTML javascript application and I want to preserve
state in a way that can be book-marked. I chose HTML anchors as a means
of preserving state. When the application changes state, the HTML page
URL would change from default.html to default.html#stateA.
example: http://pearstudios.com/javascript/locationHashAndFlash.html
This has worked perfectly within HTML and javascript alone, however,
when connecting Flash and...

Hi Folks,
I've been spending a lot of time looking for a way to connect my HTML pages
to their embedded flash files. Ideally, I would like a way to issue
"gotoandX" commands via javascript enabled buttons.
I've looked into named anchors, but I don't like the idea that the user's
back button is then constrained to a history of accessed anchors -- in
other words, I want the operation to be totally transparent to the user.

Looking for opinions on the use of Flash with ASP.NET. Has anyone here seen
or conducted any implementations of Flash that are actually useful or
otherwise complement ASP.NET?

I have a client that is really pushing me to start using Flash MX
Professional to replace VS.NET. Main arguement is that it looks better and
flows nicer than visual studio developed applcations (this client is a
designer not a programmer). I believe that Flash is a 'Tool' not a
'Solution'. My 'Solution' is an ASP.NET application but I would like to use
Flash as a 'Tool'. I am having very hard time seeing any documentation on
the...

Hello,
I've been able to use makepy to create a wrapper around flash8.ocx and
I have a wx app that serves as a container. I can get this simple case
to run a flash swf, and I can also receive fscommands from the flash
movie to the container. However, I've seen commercial flash containers
that provide new Actionscript functions (not fscommands) that can be
called from the flash movie to do something at the os level. How can I
do this?...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
