Hi Folks,
I've been spending a lot of time looking for a way to connect my HTML pages
to their embedded flash files. Ideally, I would like a way to issue
"gotoandX" commands via javascript enabled buttons.
I've looked into named anchors, but I don't like the idea that the user's
back button is then constrained to a history of accessed anchors -- in
other words, I want the operation to be totally transparent to the user.
Currently I have a setup that allows me to initialize playing of a clip,
but I can't directly reference any frames or - ideally - named frame IDs.
How realistic is this? Can it be done, or am I looking in the wrong
direction...?
Any and all help you have is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
David 1 1583

I am developing an HTML javascript application and I want to preserve
state in a way that can be book-marked. I chose HTML anchors as a means
of preserving state. When the application changes state, the HTML page
URL would change from default.html to default.html#stateA.

Perl has it, Basic has it, Fortran has it. What is so difficult about
creating a goto command for JavaScript. Just set up a label and say go
to it.

Yes, no GOTO. This is a major blunder on part of the creators of these
tools. GOTO gives the programmer the absolute control over the
program. Yes, no matter what, a GOTO sends the program to where YOU
want and takes the power away from the mean spirited CREATORS. Yes,
even GOD gave us free will! But the creators of JavaScript have...

trying to open a document and go to a named bookmark. If I use this

get JavaScript to work with it.
Here is the code I am using, the error I get from IE is Object

I have been asked to create some simple animation using Adobe Flash player
in ASP.NET(C#) web application.
While I am fairly well versed with ASP.NET C#, I absolutely have NO IDEA
about how to say "Hello World" in a Flash enabled web page rendered via
ASP.NET.
Can any one let me get started?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.

I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
