DCOM & email stripper

Hi...

Was wondering if someone could help answer a few questions I have. I recently
started a new job as a VB programmer. But this is not part of my question. The
boss there asked me if I knew how to do an email stripper. He brought up an
example of a program that would go to a website and look at all the links on
the site and grab them, showing every link on that particular site, not
including links that link to other websites.

So what he wants I think is one that will visit a site and extract all the
emails from it. I asked another programmer there and he said the program would
have to be written in C. While I have programmed in C before, he said I would
have to know DCOM which I am not as much up on. Would anyone know of any
sources where I could read up on this topic or perhaps any books? I went to the
bookstore today and couldn't find much on the subject. Is this a difficult
program to write? I know when dealing with email you have to worry about
permissions, mime formats and what not.

If anyone could let me know it would be greatly appreciated. Any information at
all. Thanks
Tom

Hello, I am looking for examples of simple DCOM server and client in Python on Win 2K or Win XP. I could not find anything worth mentioning during Google search. I am also interested to learn whether ctypes module can be used for writing DCOM server and client. Best regards, Srijit

In analysing a very big application (pysol) made of almost 100 sources, I had the need to remove comments. Removing the comments which take all the line is straightforward... Instead for the embedded comments I used the tokenize module. To my surprise the analysed output is different from the input (the last tuple element should exactly replicate the input line) The error comes out in correspondance of a triple string.

Hi, I am trying to migrate an asp app from an NT4 Server to a Win 2k Server. The directory structure & DSNs have been copied over and IIS configured in the same way as the old server. However, when trying to open the app in IE, I get en internal server error mesage from the app, which doesn't give any info at all (This is not the typical IE error message, it's been configured in the app).

I don't know where is the right place to ask this so I will start here. Can someone explain to me what these represent? I think they all have to do with the middleware level, but I really don't understand what a DCOM Server is or a Microsoft Transaction Server, etc. I have no idea.... Kyle

hi, I'm developing a WebService that uses a DCOM server at the same machine. When I call a method of the DCOM, I get an "UnauthorizedAccessException: Access denied" exception at some machine but others are ok. And invoking the same DCOM-Component from a WinForms .NET Application is always ok. My IIS WebService Site is an Anonymous Site.My DCOM-component's configuration is that Authentication level is "None"; User identity is "The...

Hi, in a existing application (DCOM server and client, both in VC++) we have very often problems with the DCOM-configuration. Is the requiered configuration (open ports) in applications using .NET remoting much more easier than in DCOM applications? What is with the performance, if the DCOM server has a .NET remoting object client and the DCOM client (VC++) uses the .NET remoting object as the server?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
