Is there a program that easily let me view huge files without being slow?
Norton Commander for DOS was able to immediately view any file of any size
scrolling from beginning or end of file. No time needed to load the file.

Hi, all.
Recently, I find there is a way in our project to maintain a global set in
many files by using preprocessing directives. I'm wondering if we could find
a better method for this.
Many colors are referred in different subsystems in our projects. They are
defined as enumeration constants and a single color must be the same value
all across our projects.

Our company has to find a way to transfer huge files, target is maximum
of 6GB, between sites so we are looking to find the best way to do it.
There are lots of criteria we need but the most important is secure,
fast, and fault tolerant. We already have a secure website between
sites so one of the ideas was to use a control to upload and download
through there. For example, when downloading from MSDN they have a nice
download utility that...

What's the difference between these two methods?
1 - Parameterrized SQL queries:
Dim CommandObject As New Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand
With CommandObject
.Connection = myConnection
.Parameters.Clear()
.Parameters.Add("@TextField", SqlDbType.NVarChar,
50).Value = TextField

I am building a data backup application in C# using Sockets. It has a server component and a client component. The client is going to upload files to the server through TCP sockets. I've got all figured out and have been able to transfer files between client and server. Now I have some doubts about which is the best method to transfer a file? Option 1 - I use the built in Socket.BeginSendFile (I am using async calls) to transfer a file. Option 2...

Hi Cj,
I also noticed that the "Act" variable here seems hasn't been declared(or
declared anywhere else?). I've try building the same code and got the same
result and the "Operator '+' cannot be applied to operands of type 'string'
" error does pointing to the "Act.Trim" which should be of method call
syntax such as Act.Trim()
After change it, that error is eliminated.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
