When I was in boy scouts, as part of learning Morse code, I was told
that the inventor of the typewriter originally put the letter 'e' under
the left middle finger, just below its present position. The typist
was often too fast and the print bars would jam. I heard the same
story when I took a typing class. This led me to wonder if 't' might
have been moved from the home row for the same reason. 'E is dit and T
is dash, under middle...

Well, it seems that Microsoft, or whatever powers that be have decided it's
time for us to have yet another standard keyboard layout change.
I think I see that the point of this one was to reduce the space occupied by
the keys on the right, so the reach to the mouse is not so bad, but the way
they chose to do it?
Ah - I see. Since most of what we type will simply be deleted at some point,
let's make sure the Delete key is big and easy...

Hello all,
posting my question in this newsgroup is about the last alternative I
can think of to resolve my problem.
The standard keyboard layout in the office is AZERTY.
Still, my access xp mdb acts as if the keyboard is QWERTY.
I deleted the QWERTY layout in regional settings in win xp pro.
However, whenever I open the VBA code, it recreates QWERTY in regional

Hi! Suppose I detected, using DInput, the 1 key is pressed. I wanna get the
shift+1 symbol on the current culture-keyboard....
For example.... In my spanish keyboard, shift+1 yields a "!". This is not
valid for ALL the keyboards in the world... so How can I get the +1
keyboard-mapped character?
thx in advance.

Just wondering whether anyone has an idea as how to set the default keyboard layout for the system in realtime. The following code I have does it for all ACTIVE processes. (New ones still use the old keyboard layout). This particular example changes the normal layout to dvorak.
HKL hkl = LoadKeyboardLayout("00010409",KLF_ACTIVATE | KLF_REORDER | KLF_REPLACELANG)
ActivateKeyboardLayout(hkl,KLF_REORDER | KLF_SETFORPROCESS | KLF_REPLACELANG)...

Hi,
Sometimes when I am cutting and pasting it looks like the keyboard
layout changes; for instance ',' and 'w' are interchanged. Is there
a better way to fix this problem than exiting then restarting the IDE?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi
Can anyone help. I would like to replace the keys on the PC keyboard. For
example, when I press Q button it displays A on the screen in any programs
(MS Words, Note, Lotus....). And also when I press Ctrl + W button, it
displays G on the screen. I would like to make the keyboards configurable.
Should I write a Windows Service? Any suggestions would really appreciate.
Please help. Thanks.

I'm looking for a program or command line or anything that would allow me to have more than the maximum 4 keyboard layout language groups that keyboard preferences in Ubuntu restricts me too. I can work with 5, but more would be better. I like to switch between US and UK but need German, Russian, Hebrew, Greek, and French as I use these languages often either in conversing, researching, Bible Study, or word game making. Its a pain in the rear to...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
