Looking for thoughts on CSLA

I am curious. Has anyone in here had in enterprise-level experience with
CSLA... especially in conjunction with Enterprise Library?

If so, what is your opinion of it? Worth considering?

I personally do not use CSLA but I know Rocky and I've looked at the code,
and it is really solid. This boils down to the "buy in" concept. If you find
a framework that you like and you decide to "buy in" to the concept and start
using it, it will work for you. Hope that helps.

There is an interview on DotNetRocks. It will help you "hear it from the
horse's mouth".

I am not using it, but his DataPortal thing is very compelling.

Is it worth considering? Yes.

My limited knowledge of when?

You want to use some kind of remoting (see DataPortal)

You have a Winforms application, and you want IEditable objects to find to.
His framework makes it ~~~alot easier to do these.

Subject: Looking for an XML (database-based) Query Reporting Tool/advice First off, let me apologize if this thread is somewhat off topic... PLEASE REPLY TO: xml@solex-bi.com I am looking for a way to query XML documents stored in an Oracle 9i database, contained in an unstructured CLOB column, much like one would with a traditional BI query reporting tool, but using XPath or XQuery

Hi guys A bit of curve ball here ... I have a document (Word) that contains a series of instructions in sections and subsections (and sub-subsections). There are 350 pages of them. I need to translate these instructions into something that can be processed automatically, so I have used the Command pattern to set up a set of commands that correspond to the various instructions in the document.

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a "directory path" solution that will allows me to test my app locally and then test on remote web server without having to update my web.config file each time I modify the file. In other words I'm storing the paths (for centralizing purposes) as custom <appSettings> in the web.config. expample (for local testing): <add key="imagePath" value="http://localhost/app_folder/10_media/images/" />

I'm trying to understand the concept of CSLA (and using it with n-tier), but I'm having trouble with it (even after browsing Lhotka's book). Let's say I have a webform (presentation) that will insert a product into the products table. My webform instantiates my Products class (business layer), and calls addProduct(a,b,c,d, ...). Products.addProduct creates and configures the SQLCommand to run the SP (data layer) that inserts to Products....

So I have a class that spans over two partial classes in code, here's an example (do not read much into this, the code is of no practical use, this is just a simple example of where my confusion occurs). // Inside SharedClassExample1.cs public partial class SharedClassExample { public List<stringBooksOnShelf { get; set; } public List<stringBooksOnDesk { get; set; }

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
