Looking for a coder to do some work

HI

Hope this is the right place for this, I am new. I have a spec to create a (dual screen) framework application that

1 displays mp3, flash, jpegs etc. on top screen
2: displays buttons on bottom screen which alter image when a key is
pressed.

The hardware is a dell pc basically, no mouse and the keyboard is a
simple 8 key pad that outputs numbers 1-8 (I think but can be mapped).
I am looking for the best way to create this and tools to use etc.

The system is basically an information kiosk like you see in airports
etc. the presentation screen on top may show several borderless frames containing differing media.

Hope you can help - any thoughts welcome

Am willing to pay fort hsi to be done

I don't understand the last sentence; in particular, "fort hsi" is
beyond my power to decode unambiguously.

I suspect that others have more current experience with kiosk-style
setups. It strikes me that Python might have a particular advantage
at work such as this, which combines curses-level input with graphical
output. I suspect a VB, or, more generally, "forms painter" programmer
would be lost without his usual point-and-click model, while, to
Tkinter of wxPy, it's all just scripts anyway.

What's your real target? Do you want to program this yourself, and
just get help, or do you prefer a specialist just create a turnkey
package and hand it over to you?

Sounds like a generic html based information kiosk.

Anyone can do this pretty easily using embedded IE or Mozilla ActiveX
control wrapped up in Venster. Just run an internal http server in another
thread.. I've done this for desktop apps. Though, full-screen windows I
haven't tried, but should be straightforward .

I was messing around with a project, trying out various compression schemes. One of them was for arithmetic coding. My implementation is .. novel ... because it uses the Rational library for buring those CPU cycles. Here's the output when you run it on the command-line with the file itself as the training set and some text from the file % python arithmetic_coder.py arithmetic_coder.py "def for in tot R"

Is ELance much better than Rent-A-Coder? I am hesitant to give ELance a try because you have to pay for it - and Rent-A-Coder is not "overly profitable". Is ELance worth the money?

Hello, I just realized there's only a "g" separating me from....me? Old Coder or Old Codger? Anyway, I haven't programmed since the late 80's. My experience then was with DEC PDP-11's and VAX's. Primarily Basic and RMS I've let myself get a decade+ behind. There's so much that I don't know that I get lost in getting started.

I recently tried out the Google "top coder" contest, as a C++ coder. I noticed immediately that they expected me to know STL. To which I say, what the fuck?! I may be missing something, but at what point when learning C++ was I supposed to have picked up STL? I ask because at every job I've had, and every job interview for that matter, whenever STL comes up it's not I, but a manager who says effectively yuck, we don't use that crap.

Hey!, Im looking for expierienced C# coders for a client. since the www.zone.com closed the Age of empires2 Client server, the community has tried to make its own client by putting together coders.. Hi, I am emailing on this forum in emergency. I need a PERL programmer who can work for 1 -2 days on a ' Website Upgrading project' . Most of this upgrading include simple changes and one or two of them might require some time to complete. I guess if you are a proficient coder in PERL and Tomahawk, You can do it in few hours otherwise 1-3 days would be enough. I have decent budget for this project but I need it done in next week. If interested,...

I wrote and maintain the SomeryC Webcomic Management Script (http:// someryc.mostpopularcomic.com), and I was wondering if anyone would like to work on it as a coder for fun. SomeryC is written in PHP and uses MySQL, so knowledge of both is necessary. Knowledge in other web technologies like Ruby or Python (to create possible ports or derivative works) or knowledge with web design are desirable. I mainly do it because I enjoy the coding...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
