A web application of mine developed using C# + MS SQL runs fine normally.
However when I stress test it with a load testing software (using about 60
simultaneous users) some instances start erroring out. I see two different
errors. One is a "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
error, which appears to always contain the same information, and the other
is a "There is no row at position X.", where X is a number.
Is this...

Hi, Group!
I got one question here:
We all know that fclose() must be called after file operations to
avoid unexpected errors. But there are really cases when you forget to
do that!Just
like what happens in memory operations, everyone knows the importance
of
freeing the allocated memory, but there do have memory leaks from time

Hi,
How do you test for an object existing in C#? C# seems to differentiate
between 'null' and non-existance. In other languages I could test as so:
if(ex.InnerException.StackTrace != null)
nvc.Add("** INNER EXCEPTION", ex.InnerException.StackTrace.ToString());
But an exception gets thrown at the if(...) statement. 'Object Reference

Hello all..
Am working on an Air Hockey game... have an table loaded into a
picture box. The borders of the table are slightly slanted. Am using
hit testing lines with GDI+ to manipulate the puck moving around. I
want the puck is bounce when it hits a border (specified by the
hitlines).
Retreieved some info on hit testing lines from Bob Powell's GDI+ FAQ
(very useful!) but i'm fairly new at the idea of hit testing and am

Hi,
I've made a class with the following operator overloads listed below.
However, If I test a 'pointer' for an instace, I get an exception that the
object is not set to an insstance of an object.
ID id = new ID(1,2)
.....
e.g. if ( id != null ) <- this line calls the static overload, I guees,
instead of testing whether the id is set to an object or not. How do I test

In the continuation of the discussion at "Making Site Opaque -- This

I have realized that despite suggestions to use DHTML-based modal
dialogs are very common? there is not a single fully functional
reliable copyright-free cross-browser alternative to say MsgBox

I'm currently in the process of writing a class library, and I'm attempting to write as many unit tests as possible to ensure that I can weed out all the mistakes early on.
Part of this involves testing that various properties catch Exceptions if set to null, so I don't need to extensively check this later on in the program and slow down my heuristics.
What I'm interested in, is if anyone knows of an easy way of testing for Exceptions...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
