Extract some part of a video (with audio)

Hello.

It seems that this is too much for me...
I "just" want to extract some part from an avi and write it to another avi.

This is working if the audio stream is not compressed. But if it is
compressed I don´t have any audio in the resulting avi.
So I somehow have to decompress the audio and I need a way to compress it
again before merging the audio and the video stream for the final avi.

Any ideas how this could be done? A big thanks to anyone who could help me
just a little bit!
Greetings,
Tim.

P.S.: Sorry for posting this question here but I wasn´t sure where to post
it, I´ve played around with DirectShow, DirectSound, avifil32.dll,
Microsoft.Direc tX.AudioVideoPl ayback, ...

Some details are given below: I noticed that many times the video recorded is 7 Frames per second and again it will change to 15 frames per second. While in this scenario the audio card's sampling frequency is 8000Hz therefore the number of samples per second is 8000. So , in this situation I am not...

Hi Everyone, Do any of you gurus out there have any suggestions regarding capturing audio/video from a video capture card in C#. Although I've written other programs, I've never worked with audio/video sources before. I've seen other people recommending DirectShow.NET. Is this one of the more popular libraries to use? Would anyone recommend other third- party libraries? Thanks,

My question is -- which is the best approach to add multimedia capability to my c# application, to support most possible formats, and make it easiest for the end user(e.g. does not need convert before play it)?

I'm working with a sql db field that stores audio and video as a varbinary(max) field. I'm able to retrieve this from the db as a byte, but I'm struggling to figure out how to convert it back to an audio or video object that I can embed or link to in my website. I'm able to determine if the object is a audio or video from another field that is prefixed withe either "au_" or "vi_". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
