I was asked to program using the Dutch Notation with C#.
I am not familiar with the Dutch notation at all. I use the Hungarian.
I asked a programmer friend "What is the Dutch Notation?" He replied,
"Do you mean HUNGARIAN notation?"
So I thought maybe the person who told me to use the Dutch notation
must have been mistaken. Upon doing some research, I realise that the
DUtch notation does exist (hehe pardon my ignorance!), BUT I can't
find any documentation on how to use it, ie what prefiex or sufixes,
etc
If somebody can briefly tell me what's its all about, or point me to
the right direction, it would be great!!
Thanks! 2 1605
Are you sure it does exist?
I have never heard of it, really.

I am still struggling with an unordered list
(http://www.xs4all.nl/~hogen/TaalVlinder/).
The top navbar contains 4 divs with each an ul,
and no padding or margins.
But I get far too much white to the left and right of the lists, especially
noticeble in the two right hand menu's 'flora & fauna' and afkortingen
etc.'

Hello,
When I create a deploment solution (VS.NET 2003 Academic), I can choose
one of the eight supported languages (localizations (chinese, english,
french, german, italian, japanese, korean, spanish)), but I need to
distribute my program in an other languages.
Currently I need the Dutch language and in the near future Finnish.
Do I have to translate all the installer texts myself?

Hello,
It might be a bit offtopic, but I'm searching for some good Dutch forums or
newsgroups were I can get some help for C++.
There's nothing about _this_ newsgroup, it's only difficult to explain my
problems in English. And when I show a short c++ code, all of the variables
are in Dutch, so it's hard for a non-Dutch-person to help me out ...

Just seeking some advice (or solace)...
Am I the only who's having trouble letting go of notation? Having extensive
experience in C++ years ago (both before I jumped into VB3 in college and at
various times during my VB career), I welcomed the "richly-typed" .NET
framework. But, after almost *two years* of "giving it a chance," I still
insist that using notation for the "common" (mostly value-types) types
(string, integer, boolean, etc.)...

An ongoing philosophical argument, I would like your opinions. With the
release of .NET, Microsoft spoke of moving away from the notation as a best
practice. I'm a believer for a few reasons:
1) Consistency throughout and knowing which objects are yours
(clsEmployee, tblEmployee, frmEmployee, etc).
2) Not having to name an employee form EmployeeForm.aspx because the
mane is already taken by your class named Employee.cs

Hi all,
Math is not my strongest area so forgive me if I use some of the wrong
terminology.
It seems that scientific notation is immune to rounding errors. For
example:
(4.98 * 100) + 5.51 // returns 503.51000000000005, rounding error!
4.98e2 + 5.51 // returns 503.51, correct!

Got a note about a new page on the Python Wiki:
http://wiki.python.org/moin/Selcuk_Altun
I suspect it's junk since it doesn't seem to mention Python and the website
it mentions doesn't seem to exist. Still, just in case...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
