I am working on a script to extract statistics (which is updated daily) from
a website, and insert them into a MySQL database. I want to take this
website:
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/stats/allplayers0304.htm
and strip off all the HTML tags and etc, make it look like
http://www.enlhoops.com/ratings/parsed.txt
and then insert each players stat line into the database.
I have begun writing the script, getting the file,...

Dear everyone,
Its my understanding that IE6 now uses a default text-size of "Small"
rather than IE5's "Medium".
Since I have used relative font-sizes (usually in ems) on all my
sites, I am now getting reports of "your fonts are too tiny" from
various users. Of course, the sites still look fine if those users set
their text-size to medium, but face it -- most people don't even know
thats an option.

Hello
I can't read the London & Continental Railways website and they have no
email address to complain to. I tried calling them, but got put through to
one guy who hung up, and another who had voicemail. Does anyone know how to
contact them?

What I want to tell them is that I have an automatic press release
monitoring program, Marvin, which tracks press releases for over 80

I am a novice, so bear with me.
I designed a website using CSS TABS, all was fine, then I copy and pasted meta name, etc for keywords, tweaking it where necessary for keywords. I did not notice any problems until I looked at the site and although the text for the tabs was showing up the images which make up the tabs weren't.
I have no idea why this has happened, can I have some advice as to what to check, and how to fix it,
thank...

Hi all,
If I open the web page
http://abrupto.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_abrupto_archive.html#116654586752664431
with either Firefox or Internet Explorer, I see two pictures near the
top left corner. Then, if I press the «Page Down» button, there's a
missing picture; all I see is an alternate text (which says "
tank driving"). But if I right-click on it and declare that I want to

Hi,
Is using frames in a website as big an issue nowadays as it was maybe 5 or
so years ago? I can remember that you used to have to have a frame site, as
well as a non frame site for browsers that didn't support the framed
version. I wonder whether newer browsers have fixed that problem, and I can
now use frames without fear?
Regards,
Murray R. Van Luyn.

This question was asked in comp.lang.javascript with no result.
In IE5.x and IE6, I want to display an image when the user rolls over a
text link. The image does indeed display, but only on the first
rollover. It seems that the image height and width become set to zero
after the image is displayed once; or perhaps that the
height:expression(eval(...)); code is executed only once for each page
load/reload.

Is it possible for a medium trust web application to read the Membership
providers? The following throws a SecurityException:
MembershipSection membershipSection =
(MembershipSection)WebConfigurationManager.GetSection("system.web/membership");
I have custom sections in my web.config where I specify
requirePermission="false", which allows them to be read in medium trust, but
it does not seem possible to do this for the membership...

First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
