Hi
Does anyone have an idea how to send mail via the win32 mapi extensions
that come with pywin32? It's very easy using Simple MAPI, but
unfortunately brings up dialog boxes inn various versions of Outlook
with security patches etc. It doesn't seem obvious from any
documentation and the spambayes classes (which are cited as a good
example of how to use the mapi wrappers) don't ever need to send mail...
Of course it could be impossible...

Hi
I am using CDO 1.21 from C# in order to iterate through the entries in a users outlook address book (as OOM was too slow). Basically I take the Name field from each "message" and insert it into a ListBox. I shall paste my code at the end, and describe my problem first
If I call my MAPI.Sessions Logoff method when I have finished using it, then this method takes between 1 and 5 minutes to execute, but after that everything is fine
If...

I've made a program sorting incomming mail in public folder.
The function runs every minute by using the form.timer event.
In Access XP it runs for weeks, no problem. Access 2003 runs the same
code for 6 hours and stops.
I've found the problem to be the Set MySession =
CreateObject("MAPI.Session")

Right now the only way to use a WinForms control in MFC is to enable COM
Interop for the control and use it in MFC as you would any ActiveX control.
While this works, COM Interop is a pain, and an ActiveX control isn't as
straight-forward as a CWnd-derived object. It also means that I have to
split my code into two projects. Going the other way (using MFC in
WinForms) is only possible by exposing MFC objects as ActiveX controls,
which...

Hi
I am unable to create a web projetc using whidbey. When
I choose "New Web Site" option from File menu, I get this
error saying "Default.js or Default.vbs not found in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
Whidbey\Web\WEBPROJWizards\VB\Webs\Application\Scripts\1033
"
I get this when I run Whidbey on Windows XP. And I am able
to create other types of projects OK.

Hi There
I just installed the PDC build of Whidbey onto Windows XP
using the 'Web Developer' profile when I installed and
was a little surprised to see that it is only ASP.NET
projects that I have available and now wishing I'd
chosen 'C# Developer' which probably displays all project
type ... how do I switch profiles in VS.NET Whidbey????
Secondly what happened to Microsoft telling us that code

Will Whidbey have construction workers whistling at it if i tucked under my

So yeah... finally started playing with Whidbey full on this weekend...
anyone else notice that Web Developer gave you pretty much every tool you
could ever want?
I prototyped an entire data driven web site in 14 hours...yeah, with roles
and what not.
Oh.. and then I only needed to write 4 lines of code (excluding stored
procedures)....

Hi,
This is the first time I've posted something on here.
I've looked around the web for hours and failed miserably. Hopefully
someone out there would be able to help.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
