Scrolling Links

Hi,
I'm trying to deal with ASP.NET and i would like to know
if there is any control or any method that allows me,
like in JAVA classes, to have, for example, scrolling
news with links to different web pages.
Is it possible?
Thanks,
Fabrizio

HEHEH! You are talkin' 'bout applets :)
OK, use JavaScript or <marquee> - in IExplorer.exe.

Hi Fabrizio,

Yes, just as Peter said, you can use <marquee> html tag to create a
scrolling text.
Here is the document for marquee object:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...thor/dhtml/ref
erence/objects/marquee.asp

Below is an article tells you how to deal with marquee tag in FrontPage.
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;167595

Note that, all these are the function of client code(html or javascript),
it has nothing to do with the asp.net.

Hope this helps,
Best regards,

Hi There We have dropdown on ASP page. The problem is we have about 900 items in the dropdown. Users scrolling through the list have become very frustrated in the past. Can someone suggest if there is another way of implement a dropdown where the datalist is as big as ours. I am looking for something like a listbox in VB where you can start typing

I have been looking at a simple example of a scrolling text box (the one in the SAM book) as below: <script language="JavaScript"> var pos=100; function Scroll() { if (!document.getElementById) return; obj=document.getElementById("thetext"); pos -=1; if (pos < 0-obj.offsetHeight+130) return;

Hi all, I've been working on a site that involves content in multiple scrolling DIVs on a page which is loaded inside multiple framesets. the layout is cramped as all hell but I'm not going to argue that with the client -- they def. want it to be structured this way. One DIV usually contains two "comparable" items between which the user can switch. I solved this by putting inline links at the top of the DIVs that link to an <A...

I have had great success with using <iframe> with overflow-y set to auto. I can get a similar look with the <iframe> tag. BUT... In all cases I need to have fixed heights. Is there a way to put either tag inside an HTML <TD> and have the same kind of scrolling effect. This would allow me to fill the screen and have the size of the scrolling box change on resize. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am currently trying to write a simple game using vb.net the form I am working on is 800*600 (this is set as the maximum size) and autoscroll is set to true. The user moves around the screen by moving a picturebox (sprite) with the cursor keys. When the user hits the bottom of the screen I want the screen to automatically scroll down to keep the picture box in view - The screen

My web site is not particularly theme-based, but it contains an Art Gallery I'd like to display in a different perspective. I would like to horizontally scroll it, rather than vertically - as if the viewer is virtually "walking" through the gallery. I'm just attempting this to have this part of the page be different. Is horizontal scrolling okay, or will it throw our browsers into chaos and viewers into insanity? If horizontal scrolling...

I guess one question at a time will work better. URL http://aljones.us (yes, I'm back again) I'd like to cause this whole page to fill the viewable window if I can. Meaning that I'd like the entire page to be visible on the current users screen. That means that I'd like one or both of the divs to scroll. I've found how to do that, I think, but can't seem to 'size' the page so it fits on

This problem has consumed a lot of my time, and I'm aftraid someone will tell me that my whole approach to this objective is wrong; however, I would like to know if there is a way to do this. I have a web page divided into two major segments, with the top segment fixed and the bottom segment allowed to scroll, thus giving the look of frames without frames. I also have anchors so that users can click on a letter of the alphabet to jump...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
