I'm trying to figure out how to modify a panel (panel1) from a
backgroundworker thread. But can't get the panel to show the new controls
added by the backgroundwork task. Here is my code. In this code there is a
panel panel1, that I populate with a lable in the foreground. Then when I
click on "button1" a backgroundworker thread in async mode is started. When

I have a page where layout of buttons and listboxes etc is important -
I would like to make use of Ajax Update panel to asynchronously update
various part of the page- in Vis studio whenever I use an Update panel
I then lose all control of the layout of the elemts within the panel.
I also dont seem to be apble to have a vs 'panel' within an update
panel and this means I cant use the rounded corners functionality
available with Ajax....

Because of IE6 not being able to put drop downs behind other divs I need to hide the drop downs when the div pops up.
The problem is I hide the drop downs but the button is also using an update panel to update the 'pop up' div this update shows the drop downs again because they are inside the update panel.
Is there any way I could run some javascript on the panel update or stop the update panel from showing the drop downs again?

Im developing a solution in vs2005 with ajex extensions. Essentially I have
three custom controls which render tables a representation as shown below.
The problem is that when any of those buttons get clicked all three tables
are updated. ( Buttons 1 2 and 3 are outside the panels ). How can I get

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
