Hide elements on panel update

Because of IE6 not being able to put drop downs behind other divs I need to hide the drop downs when the div pops up.

The problem is I hide the drop downs but the button is also using an update panel to update the 'pop up' div this update shows the drop downs again because they are inside the update panel.

Is there any way I could run some javascript on the panel update or stop the update panel from showing the drop downs again?

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense.
Finding it pretty hard to explain my problem.

Thats not really possible due to the fact the page is constructed from about 5 different controls and various other classes/objects.

Thanks anyway.

I'm just looking for a way to preserve the appearance of a control after it has been altered by JS when the panel it is in is updated.

I have a full custom application with some widged extending Controls like Label and PictureBox. I build a menu with these widgets. When I click on one of them, it calls a function to display some stuff in the main display area. The stuff to display is one of many assemblies loaded at the opening of the application by Activator.CreateInstance, because I want it independant of the main application, as a plugin. All assembly are loaded...

I searched for a while trying to find the answer to this, but to no avail. I am trying to find the best way (or any way) to dynamically show and hide groups of TR's. For example, I have a section of about 6 table rows that all need to be hidden if a certain condition is met. But I don't want to hide the whole table. And, I don't want to split up the table because the columns need to remain intact. I thought about using runat=server...

In the OnClick event on a radioButtonList, I run a javascript to show/hide the appropriate div along with a submit button, which displays as expected. The problem is the submit no longer works on the button. If I quit using the divs, and do a postback on the radiobutton selection, showing/hiding tables instead, the button is ok and continues to work. I've tried a variety of controls instead of the button in a variety of places but it...

Hello, I created an Asp:Repeater where I have an Asp:Panel and an Asp:Label. In each record of the repeater I want to have a small button which hides or shows the panel in that record. If possible with no postback. And it would be great to have a button like "Show" which would change to "Hide". Well, but this is not so important.

I'm trying to figure out how to modify a panel (panel1) from a backgroundworker thread. But can't get the panel to show the new controls added by the backgroundwork task. Here is my code. In this code there is a panel panel1, that I populate with a lable in the foreground. Then when I click on "button1" a backgroundworker thread in async mode is started. When the backgoundworker thread completes the thread returns a panel to populate...

Hello, I created an update progress at runtime including the progress template. When the postback is made I can see the update progress but the update panel content is also visible. I would like to hide the update panel content while the update progress is showing. Like one replacing the other.

A Form has a few fields along with a Submit button & a DataGrid. The fields & the Submit Button are encapsulated in a Panel named pnlDataEntry & the DataGrid is encapsulated in a Panel named pnlShowData. There is also a Session variable which comes from the login page. If the user logs in as admin, then the session variable is 1 else 0. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
