I have an app that is deployed that uses .config file settings. I have an
update of that app that I am installing using a setup and deployment
project. The basic setup process works fine. Now I want to get a little
fancier.
I need to have the setup process check for the existence of the .NET
Framework and install it if it is not present. How do I do this?
To carry this even a step further, how do I detect the VERSION of .NET...

:I Created a Pocket PC application for iPAQ 5450. Every thing went fine even
installer creation. I could run the setup and install it into the actual
device and worked fine. The application enables syncronization with remote
database using merge replication.
I found contradictory results while installing the application. I will

Trying to install this program and it gets almost done and says that the
install failed and gives me the option to see the error log, setup log but
when i click them nothing happens. I tried looking in the log folder in the
install folder under programs but nothing is there. Any help would be
appreciated.

After installing .net framework on a 2000 server for the first time
this message appears when trying to open a basic default.aspx page:
BC31019: Unable to write to output file
'C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET
Files\root\0eba2c7d\6b9c3e33\xoa7-gmz.dll': System Error &H80070005&
Doesn't matter which aspx file we open, we always get this message.
Have tried downloading the .net framework and reinstalling again...

Hi all, I have a web server running an older beta version of the .net 2.0
framework redistributable package. Are there any documented steps to
un-install that and re-install the newer version? I dont have any other
products like VS etc. installed on it. Just the framework.

I am using Visual Studio 2005 and ClickOnce to deploy a WinForm application.
ClickOnce, publishes the application fine. In a Virtual PC, it downloads the
..NET framework correctly, but whenever the framework is finished installing
it simply shows the manifest for the application (an xml file) instead of
installing it. How do I get around this? Thanks in advance.
