Fragment caching works only on production server?

Hello,

I've created a user control with fragment caching:
<%@ OutputCache Duration="43200 " VaryByParam="no ne" %>
<% =now() %>

In my local environment (PC with Visual Webdeveloper 2005) the caching
of the control doesn't work because the displayed time is updated each
time I refresh the page.

When I upload the control to my production server (Win2003 with IIS)
the caching works correct.
Can anyone tell me what causes this problem?

regards,
Jens

Hi, I have a website which is made up of dynamic pages. Each page that's loaded has some code which looks at which template to load amongst other things, which causes the page to take a little while to be processed. At the moment I have programmatic page caching in the "loader" using paramater caching to send a cached version of every requested page back to the user. How can I get particular elements inside each page to cache without...

My development system and the production system run the same basic pages, as you would guess. After I browse the production site and then switch to my development site, using IE 6.0, for some reason the javascript for my menu still thinks I'm on the production site and any menu items that I press go to the production site instead of development. In case you are thinking that it's a browser caching issue, I just tested with Netscape and...

Hi, (ASP.Net 1.1) is it possible to (programmatically and globally) deactivate page fragment caching? We have only two scenarios, development stage where we want caching off and testing where we want caching on. Is this doable? I think there is a config switch in 2.0, anything in 1.1? TIA for any hint,

Dear all, I have heard and read that fragment caching is used to cache a part of a web page in order to get remaining items vivible on the page. For example if a database querry is quite long, we create a web user control and cache that control. Which will means that during the querry process remaining page control will be visible while the querry gets executed. Then what happen if let say the querry takes more than 1 minutes to return...

Hi all, Have a strange situation regarding fragment caching. I've read the docs and kbs on this so it's either I've missed some key aspect of the implementation or there is a "gotcha" here that isn't described in these resources (kb/docs). Brief: -----

I'm trying to use ASP.NET 2.0's Menu control in a UserControl with fragment cahcing but it doesn't work. This UserControl and menu combination make up my sites left hand navigation and is database driven so would make sense to use output caching to reduce load. The menu changes very rarely. For some reason though, the "fly-out" dynamic menus (1 level) don't work properly with cachign enabled. I can click one of the sub-menus but on the...

All, I've recently upgraded our production ASP.NET/C# application from framework 1.1 to 2.0. Since then I've been plagued by out-of-memory errors and problems with the cache object (which may simply be a result of being out of memory.) We're running on IIS 5.1 on a single Windows 2000 server. We have a separate database server - SQL Server 2000 64 bit. Session state is stored on the database.

hi, is anybody familiar with production-ready distributed/clustered cache solution for .net ? Google helped me to found some (like ncache and scale-out-state-server), but they are over-priced thanks anyway for your time reading that

I'm researching what is the best way to create a generic WCF proxy wrapper that has the following requirements: 1. Remove the System.ServiceModel config section requirement for clients. We have our own configuration management that follows our application lifecycle (development/system test/production). Also, most of the proxies we build are for the middle-tier layer. 2. Create a wrapper to follow WCF Client best practices (proxy.close...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
