I have a site where a new cgi script (perl) collects a LOT of
information from a server before formatting it and displaying a
dynamic page to the client. The time delay can be from 3 to 20
seconds.
I have been trying to display an interim page with an animated gif and
a please wait type of message which would be replaced by the actual
resulting page.

For preservation of indentation when moving the C source file from Windows
to Linux machine, what is the advice to format the code.
Should the code formatted using spaces instead of tabs?
When opened using nedit in Linux, the indentation was not preserved, or
should we limit the length of each line ?
Any advice on this ? Thanks

I was wondering if someone knew about a control for .NET that allows me
to display log messages from an application while it is running.
The following things are necessary:
- word-wrap
- clickable hyperlinks (preferrably able to send clicks on these to the
application as an event, but if not I can probably make due)
- images (for showing small glyphs for warnings, errors, etc.)
- formatting (like a few colors (red=error, etc.), bold,...

Hi, I've just written the following code to describe the issue I have.
In a nutshell if an object subscribes to an event on a long lived
object and I then ditch the reference to the subscriber (set it to
null) The object doesn't get GCed because the publisher still has a
reference to it.
Solutions I can think of are:
1) WeakReference - I'm not sure how to do that (Needs to be framework
1.1 and 2 compatible fyi) and I'd like to use events...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
