? AJAX library/toolkit/frameset to use ?

I'm new to AJAX ..

In my IIS5 web apps I'm using the old VBScript in .asp pages.

I've tested an AJAX banner rotator and is OK.

Now I'm looking "the" library that will spare me to "re-invent the AJAX
wheel"

I know how to use of the Browser's XMLHttpRequest and the
client-server-client mechanism.

"My AJAX" must be able to:

1. at the beginning, when the user's browser gets the first page, the FIRST
AJAX component

must be very little (in KB). No more than 1-2KB.

This "the first AJAX javascript code" loaded, should be just a preloader for
the next JScripts will come according to the user's actions ; For example if
the user will hit a Slideshow button then the preloader should ask from the
server some Jscripts for image effects (beside the asked pictures).

I don't want to download from the beginning the entire library! Only what is
needed.

2. among the "objects downloaded when needed" library, I would like to exist
a kind of TinyMCE - HTML TEXTAREA WYSIWYG editor ; and maybe many many
widgets as possible J

3. To let me compose on the server-side the html code that will be sent and
showed on that <div id="drop-it-here">

Who's the winner?

Hi, Can someone recommend an Javascript toolkit that provides both AJAX- like requests and effects, and that supports IE 5.5+, Firefox 1.5+, and Netscape 7+? I know that NS7 may not be as functional as the others, but I need a toolkit that at least provides some semblance of compatibility - instead of a fade out, for example, NS7 would just simply close the window. Thanks in advance,

Which should I use: 1. "ASP.NET AJAX-Enabled Web Site" or 2. "AJAX Control Toolkit Web Site"? In the first, controls from the control toolkit start as: <cc1:SomeControl></cc1> In the 2nd, those controls are: <ajaxToolkit:SomeControl></ ajaxToolkit>

Hi, I am a newbie in AJAX technologies. For my application I need a combination of ListSearchExtender and FilteredTextBox control. I have downloaded the toolkit with source code, and seem to have an understanding on where to modify the controls in order to achieve what I need. I do not want to modify the toolkit source directly as those changes will be overwritten when the next update/version of AJAX will come out.

I am just stating to use ajax, and have a perfect place to use the accordion control. I have it working fine, but need to have a normal asp button in one of the panes that fires an onclick event as normal. The button works fine outside of the pane, but once I put it in the pane it no longer fires the event. How can I get a button in the accordion to run a function on the server on the onclick event? Thanks.

3 quick questions... 1. Are the controls in the AJAX Futures download "beta" or the release and stable version? 2. Also, where is the best way to learn how to implement these? (Other than by downloading the stuff at asp.net/ajax.) 3. When will the new version of AJAX be out? Will it be included with the Visual Studio 2008 release?

Hi, For my next project I'm going to need Ajax, so I'm in about to read some books on ASP.NET Ajax. While reading Rick Strahl's blog I stumbled upon jQuery. I've been to the website and seen some examples, and it sure looks promising. However, I'm not sure how it relates to ASP.NET Ajax. Do they complement each other? Or are they concurrent products?

I have run into a situation that if a page/tab that uses the Ajax toolkit (using .net version 3.5) is closed before the Ajax enable controls complete loading, then IE locks up. Does it in both IE7 and IE8. There is no issue when the controls are allowed to complete loading. Can you please tell me the best practice that handles this? Thanks.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
