I have a need to open a report in design mode immediately before opening it
in preview, to change the Minimum and Maximum scale on an axis on a chart.
This results in a flash of the report in design mode just before it is
opened in preview mode.
Is there any way to open it in design mode hidden?

I purchased an ActiveX control from someone a few years ago. It's a
checklistbox. It's works kind of quirky in my VB2005 Windows Forms
app. They have a new version of the checklistbox that I just got from
them. It was created in May 2005. When I open my program now, it bombs
out and just disappears. When I open it again I get the message:
"An error was encountered while opening associated documents the last
time this solution was loaded....

I have created a control that displays a list of items. During design
mode I fill it with junk data using calls from the constructor. So
when I look at a form with the control on, instead of being empty, it
has some content, and this gives a better idea of what the form will
look like when run. During runtime it should be empty to start with,
so I comment out the code in the constructor that fills it with dummy
data.

Hello, all, I started out thinking my problems were elsewhere but as I
have worked through this I have isolated my problem, currently, as a
difference between MSDE and SQL Express 2005 (I'll just call it
Express for simplicity).
