Suggestions on hosting service?

I'd like suggestions on a hosting service but only if you have been
using them for a while. I'm using an aweful service now. They're
servers are slow, go down and tech support is virtually non existant.
They actually answer the phone "hello" but in a very quiet almost
unaudible way. That's the problem - hosting services look so nice from
the outside but you never know how they are until you are there for a
while.

This is probably who I will go with unless some one has used a service
that is better:
http://www.webhost4life.com/hosting.asp - $9.95/mo (Advanced Plan)

The above service has everything I need:
- raw log access
- stats
- MySQL & PHP
- Setup of MIME types for IIS
- No recurring charge for another domain that points to its own folder
- good transfer rates
- very good asp.net support
- EM access and SQL Server 2005
- good control panel

If some one has been using webhost4life.co m, I'd like to here comments
on your experience with them.

Thanks,
Brett

I've been using Jodo for about a year, and it has been very reliable and
near-instant tech support, for $6.95/month. It's based in India but their
servers are in Florida. http://www.jodohost.com/index.asp However, they
don't support the Enterprise Manager libraries (for security reasons).

I've used CrystalTech for a number of clients in the last year and they've
done pretty good so far.

I was wondering what most web hosting companies would think if I asked them to host a .NET executable application? Are they going to laugh me out the door, or can .NET code be suitably quarantined off so that it can share a server's resources without much of a security or reliability concern?

I currently have a Windows Service that runs Transactions that are very Processor/Memory Intensive. I have a requirement to deploy multiple instances of the Web service on the Same server. Each Instance needs to run in its own process. My current approach to this is to put all the logic into a separate "Worker" assembly and install it into the GAC. I'm then going to create Multiple Windows Services (i.e. MyService1, MyService2 etc..)...

Hi all!!! I am trying to build a windows service that hosts a web service using the classes in System.Web.Hosting namespace. I have a class library called Digicard.WebServiceHost containing the code for hosting the web service and I've got a windows forms host (for debugging porposes) and a windows service host (the definitive exe). The issue here is that when I run the windows forms app it serves the web service correctly, but when I run...

I am self hosting a Web Service in a Windows service. I am trying to start the service using the NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService account. I get a NullReferenceException on ServiceHost.Open() in the ServiceBase.OnStart() method. SCM throws a 1067 error as well. I get the same problem with NT AUTHORITY\LocalService. When I use the LocalSystem account, my domain account, or another regular user account, the windows service starts just fine.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
