Hosting a Web Service

Hi All,

Am new to web service technology. Currently i created a web service at my
home box. Now i want to Host/Publish it to the outside world... so that it is
used by my web applicantion as well as windows client applicantion.

So my question is how to host/publish any web service ?? Any recommendations
on Hosting companies which specialize in hosting web services ??

Any kind of information is really appreciated.
Thanks,

Nitin

Hi Nitin,

you can host your webservices in any Asp.Net hosting companie. When your
clients wants to use your website they have to refer the iste url in which
you are hosting your service.

You can find your hosters in the following link

http://www.asp.net/Hosters/

Cheers,

Jerome. M

Hi Nitin,

If you don't want to use dot net, I recommand linux environment.
Do you know gSOAP? gSOAP is open source(C or C++). and It is working on
Linux system.
Of course, It have compatibility with dot net web services.

In mycase~
I use Linux Hosting Service In south Korea.

It is "http://hosting.cafe24. com (gSOAP Enable)"

$0.5 / 1 Month
HDD 300 MB
TRAFFIC 800 MB/1 DAY

Hello, I am looking for a commercial CVS hosting service for a mid-size software development project involving about 7 developers. A commercial service similar to the CVS service that sourceforge.net provides for open source code would be nice. On the web I have found: cornerhost.com/versionhost.com

I was wondering what most web hosting companies would think if I asked them to host a .NET executable application? Are they going to laugh me out the door, or can .NET code be suitably quarantined off so that it can share a server's resources without much of a security or reliability concern?

I'd like suggestions on a hosting service but only if you have been using them for a while. I'm using an aweful service now. They're servers are slow, go down and tech support is virtually non existant. They actually answer the phone "hello" but in a very quiet almost unaudible way. That's the problem - hosting services look so nice from...

Hi, I created a web service that I want to host in windows service. The problem is that if I host it as windows service it does not use the configuration file. I have to define the binding, endpoint etc. programmatically in the Program.cs file. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Cheers,
