By disable, I guess you mean hide. You cannot do that for the current
window. The only way is to open a pop-up using client-side JavaScript,
and using the feature string to specify which bar should be displayed
and which should be hidden.

See
http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/DOM:window.open

And even then, the user can simply type Ctrl-n to open the page in a new
window, complete with toolbars, menu bars, etc.

The main question is why you would want to remove the toolbar and menu.
It sounds like a very bad idea to me. These two represent the basis of
the user's browsing experience. Why do you want to cripple them?

It can be legitimate in some occasions IMHO. If you must display a very
small window, for example, the bars look clumsy. In such cases, however,
one might prefer to use a DIV or something similar instead of a pop-up.

In the case of a web application (as opposed to a website), there might
be cases where the navigation is not the main purpose of the window,
thus hiding the bars might make sense.

Devil's advocate, I know ;-)

Laurent

Hi, I'm writing an application which handles Internet Explorer Automation. Through the application I'm able to automate logon on a certain webpage. When I automate the click on the logon button, a new window should open but it's being block by the pop-up blocker of Internet Explorer. Does anyone know how I can temporary allow pop-ups at runtime? I'll probably need the win32 api but I don't have a clue which function I have to use.

Good day group, I have made a toolbar for Internet Explorer using C# and COM interop. I would like to be able to show a drop-down window appearing to come down from beneath the toolbar area, but I don't know how to determine the exact coordinates to use. My base class contains a reference to the WebBrowserClass, and I can get the coordinates of the main window, so my problem is that I am unable to determine how many toolbars are...

I have a page that I created with ASP.NET which contains a RadioButtonList. This obviously shows up as input tags in the generated page. When I was looking at the page with the free Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar utility, it showed me the id, type, and name attributes, but not the value attribute. Even if I select the "Show Read-Only Properties" option, it does not show me the value attribute. I know it is in the generated code,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
