We are a software company that builds an ASP.Net web application which
implements cookieless sessionState with SQLServer- the session is stored in
the url. Our ASPState database has been built using the standard MS scripts.
The application is used by Admins to look at endusers accounts- permissions
dictate that certain admins have access to certain endusers.
Our Admins (who work from the same facility) have reported problems- stating...

Hi,
I am having a problem with my session state through sql server. This
used to work, then all of a sudden (the only change was setting up
replication in the sqlserver database) it stopped working.
I ran uninstallsqlstate.sql after stopping w3svc and then restarted
the w3svc and rean installsqlstate.sql. This works fine on my machine
and my session variables work again....but I'm an administrator on the
database. I go to another...

Hi NG!
I wish to use SQLserver sessionstate mode with my ASP.NET application, since
reliability is a big issue and performance less so. However, it is hosted at
an external hosting partner who does not allow me to have the ASPstate db on
the SQL server (or to create another, for that matter). I have the one SQL
database at the server which is the foundation for the application. So my
question is:
Is there any way I can use that db for...

Hi!
We have a problem which is correlated to web farms and session handling and
are thinking of what solution to choose.
Our setup is with a web farm, one ldap server and a database cluster.
The web farm is doing searches which are quite performance expensive against
the ldap server, taking up to 10 or 15 seconds. The searches are displayed
to the client in a datagrid, which then may have to be paged.

We are running a ASP.NET 1.1 web app on Windows Server 2003 SP1. We are
using IIS 6.0 native mode and .NET 1.1 SP1 is installed.
We have 3 web apps in our web farm. We are using SQLServer session state
and have our machinekeys matched. We just launched a few days ago.
We did an iisreset this morning on all 3 and tonight when things settled
down I noticed we had 30 SPIDs still connected to the web apps. These SPIDs
were all...

We have a number of databases mirrored including the ASPState session
database used by the websites. However the connection string to the
ASPState database does not allow you to include the 'Failover Partner =
ServerB' parameter, and it does require you to have the 'Data Source =
ServerA' parameter. (Where ServerA = Principal, ServerB = Secondary.)
Normal databases that allow you to have 'Failover Partner' parameter
work great.
How is...

I was able to configure and run an ASP.NET (V2 framework) application to use
state session data stored on a SQL Server 2000 server database per MS KB
311209 (Persistent SQL Server Session State Management) without issues.
In the application "web.config" file I'm using this for the connection
string:
<sessionState mode="SQLServer" sqlConnectionString="Integrated
Security=SSPI;data source=sqlserver\instancename" />.
With this string...

I have a freshly installed test machine, both 1.1 and 2.0 frameworks
installed, and sql server 2005.
The application was ported from 1.1 -2.0.
I ran aspnet_regsql wizard with defaults, which creates an aspnetdb in
sql. The application runs in an IIS vroot that was set up (call it
"foo"), and I checked to make sure that the asp.net property tap for
the vroot was using the 2.0 framework.

I've been looking at using SQLServer to maintain session state. I'm confused
over what permissions are required.
There is an autoexec stored procedure in master called ASPState_Startup that
creates two tables in tempdb.
There is a database called ASPState that contains the stored procedures
called by web pages that have session state enabled.
Assume my connection string logs in as user StateUser...
What permissions does it need in...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
