Should one convert to ASP.NET 2.0 now

Hello,

There are several production applications running on a web server. .NET
framework 2.0 has been installed on the server, eventually new products will
be built again 2.0 and deployed to the web server.
My question is should existing applications be converted from 1.1 to 2.0
framework. Any advantages in doing so, or just headaches?

Thank you

If you've got the time, go ahead, but I wouln't consider it a high priority.
Don't fix what isn't broken, as they say.

The most compelling reason I could see to upgrade your existing apps is if
you want to simplify them by taking advantage of the new features of ASP.NET
2.0. This could improve maintenance headaches in the future.

Hi, I'm trying to check and see if something other than numbers (either the +, -, *, or /) are entered into a textbox, where bigR is what I call the text in the textbox. I can get what was entered and where along the string (the where part is the first section of below). I'm running into trouble just after that. I tested what the value of breakpt and got 3, which it should be if entering something like 100 + 200. But when I run the for...

Hi, Is using frames in a website as big an issue nowadays as it was maybe 5 or so years ago? I can remember that you used to have to have a frame site, as well as a non frame site for browsers that didn't support the framed version. I wonder whether newer browsers have fixed that problem, and I can now use frames without fear? Regards, Murray R. Van Luyn.

Hello, We have several complex applications developed in Access 2003 by various outside consultants. These applications link to a variety of Oracle tables and are used only for Access reports. User level security is also built in via the mdw workgroup file for all applications. I've been asked to research how viable it is to convert all of these applications to Access 2007. I understand 2007 discontinued user

From python manual str( ) Return a string containing a nicely printable representation of an object. For strings, this returns the string itself. The difference with repr(object) is that str(object) does not always attempt to return a string that is acceptable to eval(); its goal is to return a printable string. If no argument is given, returns the empty string, ''.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
