A collapsing panel in a datagrid/gridview

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what the easiest way to achieve a collapsable panel area
in a datagrid is? Do I need to find a third party panel control or does the
datagrid/gridview somehow support this functionality inherently?

Many thanks to anyone who can advise

Hi Simon,

Collapsing a panel is done using Javascript on the browser. You might
consider purchasing a third party control or you can do your own (if you are
good in Javascript and CSS). I have a couple of simple examples that
demonstrate the concept:

Simon,

You can fake it up by having 2 rows in the item template. One is populated
with controls for the collapsed view, and another with the ones for the
expanded view. In ItemDataBound event, make only one row visible at the time
depending on the conditions for expanding/collapsing.

I liked the DataGrid because I was familiar in walking through it to do custom filling and retrieval of data in cases where standard binding wouldn't do the job. I read somewhere that the object model is the same for the datagrid and the gridview. But as I begin to try to manually load a gridview I notice that there is no such thing as a GridViewItem as there was a DataGridItem. So, it's not the same. Are there any articles or...

I would like to set it so that if value of column 3 in datagrid 1 is < 100 set to red, if = 100 set to green if value of column 3 in datagrid 2 is < 90 set to red, if >= 90 set to green if value of column 3 in datagrid 3is < 80 set to red,...

I have several textboxes, a gridview and an image in a panel that need to be updated based upon info entered into a textbox. Everything works like a champ when I don't use the Atlas UpdatePanel, but I can't seem to figure out how to get even one section to work. Initially I had all 3 areas wrapped into the UpdatePanel and now I'm just trying to update some textboxes with info returned from the server. Neither one works. I tried the...

How do you call a client side javascript callback method after an update panel has posted back to the server? I have two update panels (A + B) with a gridview in each panel. GridView B has a Trigger to listen when GridView A posts back from a Select button. This works fine. I can get the Postback from GridView B and I am able to update formatting of GridView B in it's PreRender Event.

Can someone write some VB.Net example code for me that does this: 1) Creates a gridview control with the results of a SQL stored procedure that has 1 parameter (text) 2) Adds an extra column that displays the result of a VB.Net function that uses a value from an existing column I have spent 4 hours trying to do this after Googling for examples... There are many new concepts that I haven't had much experience with...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
