OpenType fonts not being listed...

Stu
Hi,

I have installed 2 OpenType fonts on the web server and am trying to list
them in a drop down list using:

Dim installed_fonts As New InstalledFontCo llection
For Each font_family As FontFamily In installed_fonts .Families
ddlFonts.Items. Add(font_family .Name)
Next font_family

This script lists all the TrueType fonts but not the 2 new OpenType fonts. I
rebooted the server overnight to see if it was a registration problem, but
this didn't work. I get the same issue on my dev machine - MS Word, however,
lists all the font correctly.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Stu

In Visual Studio .NET IDE font settings (Tools, Options, Environment \ Font and Colors), some installed fonts are not listed. And funnily, when you choose different selections in "Show settings for:" drop down, different fonts are missing or listed. For example, for Text Editor, you can choose the MS Sans Serif font, but for Dialogs and Tool Windows, MS Sans Serif is not listed. For all settings except for Printer, Tahoma is not listed but...

I've just installed a new OpenType font (http://www.typography.net/type/bliss.htm) on a WindowsXP Pro box. The font is useable in Office 2003 apps, no problem. However, when I open up VS2003, and create a form, with a text box in it, and try to set the font, the new font does not appear in the font list. How can I get VS2003 to recognize my new OpenType font?

Hi all, Hope someone is able to help. I notice when I design a basic HTML page, it is affected if a WinXP user has Large Fonts set in their Control Panel. However some pages, e.g. www.bbc.co.uk/news are unaffected by this I think. They are definitely not affected by changing the font size within the browser. Because I want to add tables, which will word-wrap incorrectly if the font size is changed, how can I disable allowing the...

Hi all Have a customer that wants a specific font included in her web page design; Comic Sans MS. This is one of the MS core fonts. The problem I have is that some of the *nix browsers do NOT include these fonts by default. http://www.diamondvet.com/test renders those fonts correctly using an XP box. After I installed those fonts on my machine, firefox and mozilla both rendered them correctly. So here is the question:

I'm trying to design my style sheets such that my pages have similar-looking fonts different platforms (Linux, Mac, Adobe, X-Windows, MS Windows, etc). The problem is, a font on one platform might be the same as a font on another platform, but with different names. I'd like to be able to specify the font names that are "most equivalent." For example, "Lucida Console" is a very attractive and readable monospaced font available in...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
