How to change the default tagprefix for web user controls

When you drag a web user control onto your design surface, VS.NET
automatically assigns the tagprefix = uc1.

Does anyone know how to change the default tagprefix for all web controls
you drag onto a web form?

Thank you.

Simply apply the TagPrefix Attribute to your control class' source code.

Here's more info:

Ok, so a new question... Im building my page as dynamic as I can... meaning that I have basicly one aspx page that controls everything... so, I solved this by sending different variables to the page depending on where i want to go, eg. www.myserver.com/gotopage.aspx?page=mainpage ok, so, on this gotopage.aspx I have used a lot of usercontrols to show the defferent contents of my pages (to keep the design at one place and the code in...

Hello, I am using a User Control (ctlHeader.ascx). My problem is that I can't change the text of my literal control "ltlPricingHeader" in the file MyPage.aspx. I can bring in the user control as long as it's static. Any help with this would be appreciated. -- Thanks in advance,

I am writing a Visual basic .Net database application. There are many forms that first let you select and look at a DB record and then when you click a "modify" button you are allowed to change data in the text boxes. Then an "update" button saves the data back to the database. What is the best way to change several properties on most of the textbox controls on the form when the "modify" button is clicked? (e.g. make them editible (and...

We have a custom (ascx) control that is used in several pages. In ASP.NET 1.1, we had register tagprefix specified in every page that uses this control; in 2.0, I decided to add this control to one more page so I added tagprefix registration to web.config. However, when I tried to open the page (after building the app ofc) it gave me errors in control's page_load - all of its inner controls (textboxes etc) were nulls. As soon as I copy...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
