I have a asp.net project with some aspx and a lot of ascx. The IIS memory
grows as it compile each item. I saw in the temporary files that for each
aspx, ascx there are arount 4 files generated, one of them being a DLL.
Is there a way to precompile everything in one single DLL. The loading time
would be shorter, etc.
I saw that in 2.0 there is the aspnet_compile. exe. Is there such a feature
in 1.1 that would generate a single DLL.

Unfortunatly, you can't precompile an ASPX in .NET Framework 1.x. It's a
ASP.NET 2.0 feature.
However compile time is spend just for the first use of your ASPX.
It's not really a problem if you browse yourself each page just after
deployment.
And for temporary files, it doesn't matter if you have enough room on your
server !

I'm trying to dynamically compile assemblies and cache them to disk,
which seems to work fine. When the data I'm compiling from changes, I
want to re-generate the assembly and use the new version.
After I re-generate the assembly, I get the type I want from it and
then invoke a static method.

Guys, in the code that follows, why does the method F() still compile, even if
DBG is undefined? Inside method G(), the code inside <#if DBG> does not compile
(notice that I can write whatever I want in there, I will not receive a
compilation error). I do get such an error in F() - because of the garbage I
intentionally put there - but F() should not compile in the first place.
Am I misusing this attribute?!

Iv compiled my current C++ project as \clr as i want to start putting
in some specific C++\CLI code to serialize my MFC objects to .NET
equivalents.
The program crashes on startup, something to do with the stack frame
being corrupted.
My first concern is the program has ballooned in terms of the size of
the executable image.
When it attempts to run it fails and some report about stack frame
corruption.

From what I read, VS.NET 2005 doesn't precompile web applications into a
DLL for deployment, rather you need to manually precompile before release.
However, I have a web application in my project and it is compiling like in
..NET 1.1 - it is generating a set of deployment DLLs.
