Hi,
We've been having a problem with one particular page that has a button
on it, and a "tall" image (top-to-bottom).
The button calls some simple Javascript to print the frame in which the
image is located, and what is happening in the field is that the image
only gets partly printed. Only the first page gets printed, and the
bottom of the image, which should get printed on a 2nd page, is not
printed. Also, the bottom of the first...

I appologise for reposting this but I have been trying to find a solution
all week with no avail and I was hoping a repost might help somebody more
knowledgable than myself to spot the message...
I am trying to write a webpage in Javascript. The page loads with three
frames, a top, left and right frame.
Depending on the users actions the background page rewrites the code for the
relevant frames.

I have a page with about 100 images of about 10k each.
where a typical img tag looks like this,
<img src="item001.jpg" height="70" alt="" onMouseOver="showPic(this)"
border="0">
Not all the images need to be viewed at once, depending on what category is
selected, only about 10 images are seen at any one time.
I hide and show categories of images by setting a div container
display:none/block or visibility:hidden/visible.
Even though the...

Hi,
Sorry to repost, but this is becoming aggravating, and causing me a lot of
wasted time. I've got a reasonably large mixed C++ project, and after a
number of builds (but not a constant number) linking (and sometimes
compiling) becomes immensely slow, and task manager shows that link.exe (or
cl.exe) is barely using any processor time, but an awful lot of RAM (around
150-200MB). I'm going to keep an eye on page faults since I can't...

I am working on a system, which among other things includes a server and a
..net control sitting in an html page and connected to the server. I ran into
a couple of problems, you guys might have some insight about.
1) It takes 20 sec or so to open a tcp socket from the client to the server.
It just sits in the TcpClient.conect waiting for something. When I run the
same control from a windows application it connects right away and works...

I have written an ASP.NET application that performs very well. I make heavy
use of the Cache and otherwise minimize the number of round trips to to the
db. I couldn't be happier with the performance - except when the application
first starts. When hitting my Web server over the Internet there is a delay
waiting for the first page. I suspect that the App Pool is starting up as
well as my particular ASP.NET Web application. I should note that...

I am using ASP.Net with VB on the 1.1 Framework running on Win XP Pro.
I am trying to gauge the time it takes to sort a datagrid using different
code sets. But when I am debugging the page there is a long delay before
hitting breakpoint in page load. When I initially load the page I hit the
breakpoint right away. Then I click on a Sort header in a datagrid, and it
takes about 1:45 before the breakpoint (first statement in Page Load) is...

I have managed to communicate between forms and Java applets. A button
press sends the content of the text area to an applet, a second button
gets some text from the applet and puts it into the textarea.
However, at the start, there is a delay of several seconds, before any
of the buttons react to a click. After the first reaction has happened,
all further clicks work immediately.
Is this meant to be so, or can I speed up the first...

Ok, so I have gone off and documented the lifecycle of a page with a

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
