Remote Debugging: Access Denied Error?

I have reached the pulling hair out stage with this now:

I am trying to remotely debug my aspnet applications on our intranet web
server.
The server is running Win2K Server, SP4.
It is a domain controller.

I originally installed IIS & then the .NET framework. I now want to remotely
debug projects (copying them back & forth is wasting time & annoying).

After doing some reading
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...bugMonitor.asp)
of this article I did the following:

I installed the pre-requisites CD, & then installed the remote debugging
components. No errors were noted. I then restarted the computer.

I can successfully execute an aspx page & it renders as expected. However,
when I attempt to debug I get the error:
"Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web
server. Access is denied.

Click help for more information."

I have ensured that my login account has admin privileges & is a member of
the debugger users group. I also made sure the IWAM user is a member of the
debugger users group. I even tried making it an administrator, but I still
cannot connect.

Any other suggestions?

Sorted.

This turned out to be a problem with the DCOM settings on my workstation,
not the server.

I used the information in this article
(http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=vsnet)
to configure my DCOM settings for remote access & it is now working.

Hello, I use Visual Studio .Net 2003 Professional (Trial version) on Windows XP Professional (Dutch version). I have a Windows Server 2003 with IIS 6 (UK version). There is no domain, just a workgroup 'Servers' and a workgroup 'Acme'. My Web Project is in the root of a web site. Not the default website, a new website, so it's not a virtual folder, it is a website with a host header like this: project.acme.test On the Windows Server...

Error Msg: Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web server. Access is denied. After many hours of scanning MS KB's, newsgroups, and msdn trying all of the suggestions, I'm still stuck. I've attempted to implement all the combinations of users, access rights, remote aspx configurations, and local policies to no avail. Does anyone have a handle on this common error? Maybe some unpublished trick to getting...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
