Dear benni,
This is not a dummy post. I received a newsletter saying the same. Since I need the opinions of some experts like you, I posted this dear. Because, now we are developing applications in ASP.NET and our customer is asking few questions like
Why you choose this technology?
Why you cant go for some other technology?
What is the advantage?
and so on.....
Thats why I posted this...

Hi John,

Getting the opinions of experts is a good idea! The problem with asking
opinions in a forum such as this is, you don't really know who the experts
are, in general. You also don't know who has an axe to grind, etc. So you
have nothing to measure those opinions against, with few exceptions.

Hi, I am teaching myself J2EE. I have couple of books but how can I get practical experience? I installed trial version of IBM-websphere but it seems too complex for a beginner in J2EE. I have WindowsXP. Suggestions are welcome.

Hi Just read this article http://www.artima.com/intv/choices.html. Towards the end of the dicussions, when asked "Did you consider including support for the concept of immutable directly in C# and the CLR?" Anders' reply included this comment: "The concept of an immutable object is very useful, but it's just up to the author to say that...

Hi, Sorry to repost, but this is becoming aggravating, and causing me a lot of wasted time. I've got a reasonably large mixed C++ project, and after a number of builds (but not a constant number) linking (and sometimes compiling) becomes immensely slow, and task manager shows that link.exe (or cl.exe) is barely using any processor time, but...

Hello everybody, I just wondered if anybody else has noticed this? It takes around 6 seconds to start debugging a very simple ASPX page with VS.NET whereas VB6 takes under 0.5 seconds, even with very large and complex projects. This is a real shame :(

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
