Does browser cache images?

Hi:

When I change an image, but keep same title, then upload image to hosting
server, my browser will display old image until I refresh. If I close
browser, then open same page again, I have to refresh again to view new
image. It's not until I have done this a few times will get new image
without refreshing. Seems like browser is somehow holding on to old image.
Anyone know what causes this and how to prevent it?

Thanks,
Charlie

Well, you can go into the IE options dialog and adjust the "Temporary
Internet files" settings.

Yes, browsers cache images to improve performance.
You can clear your browser cache any time you want through the options menu.

Is it correct to assume that anything gets cached? E.g. Java applets?

We had this exact problem with files, uploading and then when downloading,
it still downloaded the old file. The solution to this was to ensure that
the date of the new file is greater than the date of the old file Give it a
shot - I bet it will work.

Hello everyone, Me again. Trying to learn some more :>) I hope I got the terminology right. How does a browser parse (correct term?) an HTML document. I'm sure that every browser does it a little differently. Do they simply just read a document top-to-bottom and left-to-right and just display elements in the order in which they encounter them? Or, do they give priority to certain types of content? For instance, would a browser

Is it possible to cache dynamic images in client's browser the same way static images are cached? for example, i'd like to be able to cache this dynamic image: <img src=pic.axd?id=2the same way the browser would cache it if it would say <img src=http://someplace.com/pic.jpg> is this possible? if not, what are my choices/alternatives? thanks in advance,

Upon entering the site www.FutureByDesign-Music.com with IE6, my clipboard is erased and then disabled in all other Windows XP applications. Navigating to another site returns clipboard functionality, but whatever was on the clipboard before is lost. If I disable running JavaScript on the page, the clipboard is unaffected. Viewing the page in Firefox does not have this issue. I think it might be the script below, which makes no sense...

I have a flash app that displays a lot of images that are streamed through a script running on the website server. Originally this script was in perl and I would load the image into flash using something like: /cgi-bin/image.pl?image=1234 I quickly realized that flash was showing me cached images so I added: /cgi-bin/image.pl?image=1234&somerandomnumber

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
